The Education of Sebastian (The Education of..., #1) - Jane Harvey-Berrick 4.5 STARS

OMG!! What an ending!! I need to read the second book, Pronto!! Thank God I have it... PHEW!

'Rules are for the obedience of fools and the guidance of wise men'

image

"There is nothing to forgive," he said, his voice forceful. "We fell in love. It's not a crime."

Caroline is 30 years old and in a loveless marriage to a US Navy Medical Officer. Sebastian is a 17 year old high school graduate, just four months away from 18. They met when Sebastian was just 8 years old and this is when he started to fall in love with Caroline. But then her husband was relocated, and so Caroline leaves and doesn't return until 10 years later. In their first encounter, Caroline notices how handsome he's gotten and how eager Sebastian is to keep seeing her. She starts to feel uncomfortable at first, and tells him so, but then she couldn't help but feel attracted to him.

"Why are you so scared? I mean, forget all that legal bullshit…why do you keep trying to…I don't know, make me change my mind? What do you think I've got here that I wouldn't give up in a heartbeat to be with you? There's nothing to keep me here. I'll go anywhere, do anything to be with you."

I wasn't sure initially, if the age difference was going to really put me off, due to Sebastian being underage and all. It ended up not bothering me too much in the end. I won't lie, some moments the age gap was more obvious then in others, and it was in those moments where I wasn't 100% okay with the relationship. I guess, I still would have liked for them to have waited until he was 18. Nevertheless, I really did enjoy the story.

"I love you, Caroline. I always have. My whole life."

******

"Caro! Why are you crying?"
"Because I love you."

“What did I know of the kind of love that made it hard to breathe, where your body ached day and night for that connection with another, physically, mentally, spiritually? It was utterly new and terrifying and exhausting and wonderful. I was dazzled by the light that spilled from him into the shadow of my previous existence. He eclipsed everything, erased everything that had gone before. I was reborn – not just to him, but to myself. And I was ready for the adventure.”

Even though Caroline was 30, she at times seemed as innocent as Sebastian. I felt like she never really grew up and became her own person, because of the way she was treated by her husband. So in some ways, their behaviour was of a similar age. She was a doormat. David, her husband, demanded things be as he liked at all times. He never seemed to take an interest in, or encourage her to pursue what she was passionate about. He made her feel insignificant while he was always important. Everything they did was so mechanical and with no emotion. I don't know how she stood him for so long. I did feel very happy when she was able to finally leave that relationship and stand up for herself. Sebastian gave her that strength and support she needed to take that step. She was able to learn what real love felt like and also think about the possiblities to have in life. She finally felt alive and it was because of him.

"You've given me back my self-esteem and you've given me hope for the future. You've given me love. You've given me yourself. There's nothing else I want."

Sebastian, sometimes, seemed to be mature for his young age. This was because he pretty much raised himself, since he practically had a nonexistent father and an alcoholic mother. That doesn't mean he didn't act like the teenager that he was, he definitely had his mood swings. He also was very sweet and so endearing. Almost everything that came out of his mouth had me absolutely MELTING! In the beginning, I thought, he couldn't possibly know what love is. I just thought he needed an out from his situation at home and latched himself on to Caroline. I soon realized that I was wrong. I believed him when he said he loved her. I adored him and just wanted him to have the happiness he deserved.

"Caro, don't you understand how I feel about you? I love you, you're all I want. I want a future with you... I want our lives to be together. I'm not a kid, I've had to grow up fast. I've been taking care of myself for a long time now. And I want to take care of you."

image

The ending was terrible!! Not that it was poorly written, but because of the events that took place. My heart was breaking and I hurt so badly for them. Why couldn't they just have waited for those four months to go by to start something! Then maybe it would have ended differently. It was a beautiful read and now I am DESPERATE to start the next!

'Despite what happened that day, despite what happened later, I can't bring myself to regret the events of that summer, because Sebastian taught me how to love.'
Lana - R.K. Lilley 3.5 Stars

'I'm just adrift, banned from my home, and utterly rejected by the only man I'll ever love.'

image

I was excited to read this novella because I loved Lana in the 'In Flight series'. Through that series, we found out about how she was still in love with Akira after leaving all those years. She had left Hawaii heartbroken due to Akira's rejection, and never looked back. In this novella she finally returns to Hawaii to attend to some matters in the family business. This is where she reunites with Akira.

"You have the most amazing eyes in the world, Lana. I think I'v missed those the most... I can't tell you how sorry I am that I drove you away."

********

"I guess it was always just wishful thinking. I never wanted to lose hope that you would come back."

********

"I love you, Akira," I said to him as he lay on top of me when we'd finished. My voice was quiet, but sure. "I always have, and I always will. I want to be with you forever. I don't want anyone else."

I was Shocked because I was not expecting Lana to be such a minx LOL! The car and her birthday scene...OMG! It was hot! Let's just say, she ain't shy, that's for sure. I always thought she was kind of tame yet very fun, from her interactions with Bianca. Guess I was wrong on the tame part haha!

image

"Don't leave us again, Lana," he whispered roughly. "Don't leave me. Stay. Please"

It is a novella so it was short, not much drama here. I was a little let down just because of the fact that it ended too quickly. Right when I was getting into the love story between Akira and Lana it was done and the ending felt rushed to me. So I ended up not completely loving it. I really liked Akira, but, I can't say I love him, obviously, since I couldn't really get into the character well enough, with it being short and all. I liked his family, they were very entertaining. I did enjoy it, though, and it was very sweet and heartwarming. They both realized that they were unhappy being apart and hurt by the misunderstandings of the past. I loved seeing them get back together and no longer deny themselves what they wanted all along. Overall it was plenty hot and a good novella. I can't wait for Danika and Tristan's story!!

"I love you," I said breathlessly.
"Good," he murmured roughly, "because I'm keeping you forever."

Special Forces - Mercenaries Part I - Director's Cut (Special Forces, #2 part 1) - Aleksandr Voinov, Marquesate, Vashtan **Buddy read with Drunken Panda Amanda and Melissa The Pervy Nerd**

5 Stars
WOW!! THAT ENDING WAS SO AWESOME!!!
I AM FANNING MYSELF AND CAN'T STOP SMILING!!

image

"We will be together, come what may."

I finished reading Special Forces: Soldiers with such a high. I was absolutely euphoric. Then this book picked up where it left off and everything goes CRAZY. The action in this book had me not wanting to put this down. I couldn't stand for anything to happen to them. My heart was pumping and I was nervously twitching. Vadim gets kidnapped and is mentally tortured while Dan tries his best to find and get him back. The problem is that Vadim is broken and he no longer feels like himself, in fact, he feels nothing. After all Dan had to do to get him back, Vadim walks away without warning, leaving Dan heartbroken.

"I loved you, but when you returned only to leave... Everything shattered. Everything I was... felt... wanted was gone. I was empty. There was nothing left inside. Nothing."

image

"If I touched you now, would you never leave me again?"

The separation period was the most toughest part to go through for me. My heart was hurting tremendously, but more than that, I couldn't handle my frustration. I became so pissed off because they were no longer the people they were before. They ended up hurting each other so much. This is where it was difficult for me to continue reading. Dan was out sowing his wild oats and Vadim was reverting to his old aggressive ways. I really wanted Dan to talk to Vadim and be more understanding of what he went through. I also wanted Vadim to get help so he could get himself back together because he was getting suicidal. It saddened me to see Vadim this way and I could not believe his actions.

When you were here before
Couldn't look you in the eye
You're just like an angel
Your skin makes me cry
I want a perfect body
I want a perfect soul
Whatever makes you happy
Whatever you want
You're so fuckin' special
I wish I was special
But I'm a creep, I'm a weirdo,
What the hell am I doing here?
I don't belong here...
--- "Creep By: Radiohead"

Vadim's ex-wife Katya makes an appearance in this book. I really liked Katya in Soldiers because of her unconditional support to Vadim. In this book however, I thought she was bloody crazy. I don't understand why she wanted another child so badly. But the thing that made me disgusted with her was the means in which she tried to get herself pregnant. I felt really bad for the situation Dan found himself in. It was disturbing and awkward to say the least.

I also did not like Jean at all in the beginning. I didn't understand the whys of his actions. I mean he was a 'heterosexual' with a someone waiting back home yet he still became one of Dan's lovers. He just seemed shady to me. But then I softened to him a bit because he ended up helping Vadim get Dan back. Matt on the other hand, I truly liked. He was another one of Dan's lovers. Matt may be young but I loved that he had the balls to stand up to Vadim and the loyalty he had for Dan. The best character to me was Maggie, The Baroness. She was such a wonderful woman for giving Dan and Vadim the support that they needed. I just loved her!!

'His. Partner. Comrade. Lover. His again'

image

'I love you more than I can say, than I can even think and what you give me takes my breath away, but breathing is overrated when I can kiss you'

The ending was by far the best part in the book, which was around the 82% mark. Having Dan and Vadim reunited had me overwhelmed with joy. I wanted their R&R moments from Thailand and Dubai to last forever!! I was in bliss! It was sweet, beautiful, perfect, and steamy. I finally understood how much they needed that time apart to grow and become stronger. I think their relationship has solidified more, as a result. So all that bitterness I was feeling, was worth it in the end. They still have a lot of healing to do, but now they have each other's support.

"Mine"
"Always."
"Till death do us part, as they say."

image

"I'll always be there. Always. I have no intention of spending my nights apart from you. Ever again. As long as it's in my power to do anything about it, I will sleep beside you. You understand?"

I must be a masochist because I actually really liked the book. Sure, I felt like I was torn to pieces and my heart battered, but like I said, the ending made it worth it. It was an Amazing read!! I didn't think I was going to make it, so thanks to my buddy readers for keeping me going.
Rush - Maya Banks 3-4 Stars

First off, if you loved the 'Bared To You' and '50 Shades Of Grey' series, then you will most likely enjoy this one too because they are very similar. If not, you should pass this. My rating is from three to four because some parts felt three stars while others felt four.

This is a book where I didn't entirely love the male protagonist. Gabe Hamilton is a thirty eight year old dominant business man, who is business partners with Mia Crestwell's brother (Jace Crestwell) and best friend (Ash McIntyre). My first impression of Gabe Hamilton was that he was a Jerk. He pissed me off on so many occasions by constantly making stupid decisions. Yet when you get to read his POV, you could see he wasn't so bad and that there was actually Good in him. Unfortunately, It took him a while to show it completely. I was worried I would hate him throughout the book, but I found myself softening to him by the end.

"I can't be without you," he whispered. "You have to stay"

image

Mia Crestwell was another story. I really Loved her! She was an intelligent and strong twenty four year old. Despite the fourteen year age difference I felt she was WAY more mature than Gabe most instances. I absolutely LOVED how she was not meek and didn't cower unto him when he was being an asshole. She stood her ground at all times and demanded respect. She was just awesome!!

"I deserve better than that, Gabe, and I'm sure as hell not going to settle for less."

image

The sex in this book was not an intense type of BDSM. So I'd say it should be great for everyone. It was really Steamy though and at some points had me needing an ice cold shower, it was that hot haha! ;)

image

The story itself was entertaining, and yes, at some points it was predictable, but I really enjoyed it nonetheless. It never bored me and I very much liked the supporting characters. I did really Despise Charles! He was a royal bastard to nth degree. Just needed to say it LOL. Lisa, Gabe's ex-wife was just plain annoying.

The ending was very sweet and cheesy, but it never bothered me. I couldn't help but melt completely. I was so Happy! I think it was a good read and I'm definitely going to check out the next two books on Jace and Ash.

"I can't live without her...I can't be happy without her...I want her in my life. Every goddamn day. I want to take care of her, make sure she never has to worry for anything that I can give her...All I can think of are daughters who look just like her...I've never felt this way about another woman. I never will."

image

Raid - Kristen Ashley 3.75 Stars

image

I have got to say that I actually liked this one more than the previous books of this series. I was able to connect better with the characters in this book. Raid was a sexy alpha who had me feeling tingles throughout the book. He was also a good hearted person, sweet, and just oh so swoony. I even enjoyed Hanna, she never annoyed me, in fact, she was quite endearing to me. Hanna was a hardworking, kind woman who had her dumb moments, but again, didn't annoy me. The character that I totally loved was Hanna's grandmother. She was a little crazy but so wise and really funny.

image

This book was quite different from the others of this series. It was shorter for one. But I felt it wasn't as intense as the others. Despite the fact, I felt this worked better for me because I found myself enjoying it more. However, it left me wanting for something that was missing. I guess the plot could have been more developed. I still don't get what is going on with Nick Sebring who appears in this book as he does in the previous two. I also found that Raid was the least anti-hero when compared to Knight and Creed. Not that I'm complaining because I still thought Raid was HOT!

image

The sex in this book was a bit lacking in my opinion. This was an erotica book so I expected it to be all kinds of very hot. I mean it was still steamy but I felt it could have been hotter. Still, I think it was good, so it didn't exactly disappoint. I got to say though, just because Raid was domineering in bed, I didn't think it was exactly bdsm.

image

The epilogue, I thought was lovely except for one part that made me sad. But don't worry, you still leave finishing this book with a good feeling. It wasn't KA's best, but overall I think it was a good read.

Favourite Quotes:

*"You're my reward, Hanna"

*“Cause all you gotta know is it's gonna be you - and only you - until the day I die... You're not just enough for me. You're everything I want.”

*"She doesn't do it for me, Hanna... You do it for me because you were that girl across the street, your hair shining in the sun, laughing, making me fall in love with you, and I didn't even goddamned f*cking know you."

*"I gave a lot of thought to the woman I'd want in my bed. I grew older and gave more thought to that woman, but also about the woman I wanted in my life. And she was you. Then I met you. And now, every day I wake up I cannot believe my luck because you're here."

~Review For Soldiers Part I and II~

6+++ Brilliantly Amazing Stars

I don't even think I can think properly after reading this book. My thoughts and emotions are in utter chaos. It was a heart achingly beautiful story of two unlikely men that fall in love. Dan McFadyen is a Scottish SAS Soldier and Vadim Krasnorada is a Russian Spetsnaz Soldier. Both are at war in Afghanistan. Both are enemies.

We're both lost, comrade, he thought. We are in a war we don't want to be in, we're both on the wrong side of it, and all we get out of this is...He sighed. Enough to keep me going.

image

"You're as close to a f*cking home as I get."

Their first meeting was anything but romantic. It all started by Dan getting raped by Vadim. I felt shock, disgust, and pain while reading this. This book brought out a whirlwind of emotions from me. I felt hatred, sadness, sympathy, happiness, love, lust, and many more. I don't know how it happened or when exactly, but I fell in love with these characters. Everything about them felt so real, and yes, they aren't perfect, but I fell in love anyways. I didn't think it would be possible considering what they had done in their past. Vadim raped while Dan tortured.

"I want you, Dan. More than anything. You...are in my blood, in my bones, I need...you. Do you undertand."

image

"You seem to be the one for firsts," his breath caught, "and lasts and always."

This whole book was in a span of about 10 years. So by then end of this book they had changed so much. They found in each other what the other didn't know they wanted or thought they could ever have. Watching their love grow was as heart warming as it was heart breaking. I cried so much reading this that by the end I was emotionally drained. But it was totally worth it. I really LOVED it! Nothing I write can describe how truly amazing this book was, so, you're going to have to read it to understand.

"You're mine." whispered, beginning to kiss along jaw and down the neck. "Your're mine, no-one else's. Not even Mother Russia's. You're mine."

image

"Aye," Dan whispered, "we'll be together." Tender kisses, now, light touches of fingers, hands, body, skin, and again and again his lips. "If you can't... then I will. I will find you. Wherever and however. Whatever it takes. Whatever it costs. Anything."

Thanks to my buddy readers for helping me get through this tough read. It was such a wonderful story :)

***

I HIGHLY recommend this book. It is dark and very graphic. So warning, it won't be for everyone.
Creed (Unfinished Hero, #2) - Kristen Ashley 3.5 Stars

I love books that have badass female characters. So when I started this book and found out Sylvie was that kind of character, I was really stoked to read this. Sylvie was a strong woman, protector for Knight's girls, that despite her short stature and lean frame, she was able to kick some ass. I've read a few of KA's books and Creed was not that great of an Alpha as other characters she has written. Nevertheless I still very much liked Creed. He was really sweet and protective of Sylvie from such a young age. I loved how he gave Sylvie those necklaces and the tattoo, it was so beautiful because of the meaning behind it. Together I thought they made a great couple. Creed came back into Sylvie's life because he was hired by Knight to become Sylvie's partner.

image

This book goes from present to past and back again. I have to say that I just loved and looked forward to all the scenes of the past. They were more interesting to me than the present. It was so bittersweet that my heart was aching for them. They both didn't have a great upbringing. They had terrible parents who didn't care about them. When they thought they had no one, they found each other. Sylvie was only six and Creed was eleven. It beautiful to see their childhood friendship turn into love over the years. The reasons why they separated for sixteen years, once Sylvie turned eighteen, was heart breaking. They had to go through so much thanks to Sylvie's father.

image

When it came to the present, I found that some parts were good. Once they came together after sixteen years, they needed to rediscover each other because of how much they had changed since. Sylvie changed the most and with good reason. Sylvie was troubled by nightmares of the things Creed endured. And so after being insisted by Creed to get help, she did. She lived with the thought that Creed had left her. So once she found out the truth of why he left, it was great to see them getting that relationship they always wanted to have. I also enjoyed watching her with Creed's children.

image

Some parts I didn't really like. I felt like some parts were a bit dragged on while others rushed. The plot itself was nothing extraordinary. There was no problem to overcome really. It was just watching them form a relationship and build a life that they never had to chance to make. It had a very similar story line to another KA book 'For You', so I felt like I had already read this story in a way. There were also some parts that were added that were kind of mundane and I felt didn't really add to the story.

image

The sex in this book wasn't really that hot to me. I thought Knight had light bdsm and in this book it was pretty much non existent. They were pretty much doing the sames things over again with some switches in position but nothing I'd call exciting or very steamy. I just for some reason couldn't connect with them during the sex scenes. It was a good read overall. I enjoyed the flashbacks so very much. Loved a few parts that were so sweet and romantic. I did really like the epilogue and it were more detailed, otherwise really good. I am hoping Raid will be better.

Reckless - S.C. Stephens *Buddy read with Drunken Panda Amanda and Melissa The Pervy Nerd*

I was SO extremely excited to FINALLYread this one after reading and LOVING the first two books. Unfortunately, this one I didn't love as much as the previous books but it was still really good. After the first few pages, I was loving being reacquainted with all these characters and realizing how much I MISSED them. Then after that, I felt that some situations were getting a bit repetitive. The jelousy and stuff, I thought they were over that from the last book. Although, the jelousy wasn't as intense as the last book, so I guess the trust was definitley stronger here. The drama in this book was also not as interesting to me.
This was still a bit of an emotional rollercoaster, but it was light in intensity when compared to the previous books. I cried, I got pissed off, and I laughed.

image

I did really HATE Joey and Sienna because of how selfish they both were. They were both hurting Kellan by using him for their own personal gain, regardless to the consequences. I was so frustrated that Kellan went along with all the BS publicity stuff with Sienna to promote their band. It's suppose to be about the music people!! His band members along with Kiera didn't even have the courtesy to ask him his feelings or wants. They just let him sacrifice himself, even as they watched how much it distressed him. Especially when filming the music video, I really wanted to rip Sienna off him >:( I was hoping that Kiera would be strong and stand up for him and herself. I didn't like how Kiera just let everything happen and how she let Nick and Sienna push them around.

image

I can't believe I'm going to say it, but I LOVED Griffin. I was never annoyed by his antics, like Kiera seemed to complain about, because they were all REALLY HILARIOUS to me! We finally get to see a different side to him in this book. He was still his D-bag self but he was also VERY SWEET and ENDEARING. Kellan still has my heart, and now more than ever, but Griffin managed to squeeze himself a little in there as well LOL!

image

I was even surprised that towards the end I could actually see a change in Kiera. I enjoyed her much more in this book because of how much she had grown, still I wished she had some backbone, though. It took her a while but she did it. She is finally worthy of Kellan LOL.

image

I hate to say that some parts were dragged on too long, that I was actually bored and was afraid it would continue like that. Nonetheless, I made it, and the ending from 70% onward, made it all worth it. It was ABSOLUTELY PERFECT, AMAZING, AND BEAUTIFUL! It might have been a bit cheesy at times, but that didn't stop me from LOVING it! I am so happy they got their HEA. What pleased me the most was the talk between Kellan and Denny. They finally put the past behind them and now they can be completely happy for each other's present and future. Denny deserved the HEA he got and more, so I was very satisfied with it. The epilogue had me tearing with tears of joy. I can't stress enough how much I really loved it without spoiling. So yeah, I LOVED it!

image

In the end, I can't say I loved this book as whole. Don't get me wrong I did really like it, I just didn't love it. But I can say that the ending, I truly did LOVE. It was a perfect ending to the series. I am hoping we get more of Kellan's POV in the future because let's be honest, we stuck through the whole series for KELLAN KYLE ♥ *SWOON*

It's very hard to find the Kellan Kyle in my head, but this guy comes pretty close...

!!OMG I FREAKING ♥ LOVED IT!!

image

I completely devoured this book. Hands down my favourite of the series. My heart was BURSTING with HAPPINESS. I was in a blissful state throughout this book whenever Ty and Zane were showing their love. THANK GOD they are FINALLY not holding back and their relationship is growing. They are the most ADORABLE pair that they constantly had me melting!!

"I can't wait to get home with you. Even if it's just to crawl in bed and watch that stupid-ass show you like so much, I don't care. Whatever I do, I'm glad I'm with you." -Ty

Ty heads home with Zane after recieving a call from his mom that she needs help since Earl is 'injured'. Ty had been thinking about going to the next step and finally reveal to his family that he is gay. Chester freaking knew Ty and Zane were 'sweethearts' the whole time and just blurts it to the family, I LOVED IT ha! The family didn't take it so well in the beginning, especially Ty's dad, but only because he kept it from them for so long, like they wouldn't support him.

"Don't matter who you love, son," Earl said. "As long as you do it well."

Zane recieves a call from his family that they're having trouble with trespassers in their ranch. So Zane goes alone to Texas to help. The part I have been waiting for finally came! Meeting Zane's family. Zane had mentioned time and time again how he wasn't close to them but never revealed further from that. Now I can say his family is freaking AWESOME as well. I'm NOT including Zane's mom in that statement. I REALLY HATED her. Ty surprises Zane and arrives at that ranch to see if he can help. Zane decided to come clean to his family and also reveal that he is gay and is in a relationship with Ty. Zane's Dad was the BEST!!

Harrison shrugged. "Had a gay bull I had to sell last year. That was a damn nuisance. Gay son? That don't cost me nothing."

His Mom however, did not take it well. She was a royal B*TCH who worried more about appearances than to being loving and understanding to her family. A mother should be happy their children are happy. She actually made Zane cry and I was right there with him balling!! I wanted to give him a hug SO BAD! <3<br/>
image

The sex scenes were sweet and tender yet very passionate and even rough. And of course they had me fanning myself often (phone sex, car rutting, couch cowboy ride, utility closet quickie) REALLY HOT!!

They're relationship is moving forward and have had the 'want kids' talk. This was because of how well Ty was with Zane's niece Sadie. They were so cute together! I think they would both be such amazing dads :D I am hoping that things will become more serious, like say... marriage? Because Zane was contemplating it!! *SQUEE*

image

"For the first time, they were actually discussing their future in concrete terms. They'd both known, on some level, that they intended to spend the rest of their lives together. It felt like a solid force now, though, something as real as the hands that pressed into his back or the lips that met his over and over as they made love."

OMG! Ty with Wesson and Smith was cute, But now with Barnum! SO ADORABLE! We totally missed when Julian came to collect his cats, though! :( After losing his beloved Bronco, now Ty has a new car to build up, thanks to Zane's dad. :)

I am TOO EXCITED for the next one!! Let's see what Touch & Geux brings us. I can't wait to get MORE of Ty and Zane! I want it to NEVER end LOL! :D

***
This has nothing to do with the book but they mentioned the song 'The Eye of The Tiger'. This is how Ty would look like singing it LOL
Take It Off - L.A. Witt, Aleksandr Voinov OMG L.A. WITT AND ALEKSANDR VOINOV HAVE DONE IT AGAIN!! THIS WAS SO FREAKING HOT!!!

image

GUESS WHO'S BACK!!
ROLEX'S BACK!!!
WHICH MEANS JARED AND TRISTAN ARE BACK!!!

image

I absolutely LOVED Quid Pro Quo and now I love this one. I enjoyed watching Jared want Tristan so badly in the first!! Now the tables have turn. This was told in Tristan's POV and it seems he wants more from Jared than them just performing for the johns.

It was a SUPER steamy short. Oh Tristan, how he lost control. Can I just say that Jared's new found confidence was freaking SEXY!! My only complaint like with the first was that it was TOO SHORT!! Now I am highly anticipating the third installment with Nick!!
Knight - Kristen Ashley This is the first Kristen Ashley book that I read that contained some bdsm, but nothing intense. KA did a great job because it was PLENTY HOT!!! Knight was smokin'. He literally made my knees weak on more than one occasion just by the stuff that came out of that mouth LOL!! He was also able to drown me in cold water by the things that came out of his mouth (you'll understand later).

Nothing really exciting happened in the story though. It was pretty much about Anya Gage and Knight Sebring's relationship developing. No plot twists or anything like that. Just Anya and Knight learning more about each other. As well as Anya learning about the world Knight lives in.

The sex was CRAZY HOT!! I am not going to lie though, the whole "Daddy" thing, is not a turn on for me. As I continued to read, I tried to overlook this, but the first time it was mentioned I was like 'WTF!!! This is... WEIIRRDDD!!' *cringe* and this is what I meant by drowned in cold water haha! Still, when not putting much attention to him being addressed as 'Daddy', the sex was SUPER HAWT!!

Here are some examples:

"Does my baby want her Daddy to play with her?"

*****

"...you ride your Daddy..."

*****

"Good, baby, now position and take Daddy in your mouth."

In the end I still ended up loving the Sexy Alpha, Knight, despite how anti-hero he was. Anya finds some stuff about Knight's profession where she has to come to a decision if she trusts him enough to stay or leave him.

I love all of KA epilogues because they never dissapoint and this one didn't either. Overall this book was pretty good. I'm hoping the next will be better :)

Favourite Quotes:

"I love you, Anya, you're the only woman who's had that from me and you're the only one who ever will."

****

"...you gotta know that each second I spend with you it becomes more and more clear you were made for me. A gift I don't deserve, I didn't earn but I'm not giving it back."

"Stop it."

"Not going to do that, Anya. Not ever. Not until you get it, baby."

Tempt Me - Olivia Cunning 2.5-3 Stars

I would rate the smuttiness in this book 4 stars. Like any other Olivia Cunning book, the sex scenes were HOT!!! with copious amounts of it!!

Unfortunately I couldn't connect with the characters. The story was quite similar to the first except these have a background. It was quite predictable what would end up happening. I was curious about Adam's addiction and his father's influence but the subject was barely touched. Then at the end I was like.. 'Oh it's over????....Okaaayy'. Overall it was... meh.

Armed & Dangerous - Abigail Roux *Buddy Read with Panda and Perv Mar 4/13*

OMG 5++ AMAZEBALL STARS!!!

I am SO glad I read Warrior's Cross first because I don't think I would have connected with Julian and Cameron as much. So I suggest you read that one first. Putting them together with Ty and Zane was a freaking BRILLIANT idea!! I kind of wish this was made into a TV series or something just to see it all live :)

This one picks up a week after Ty's disappearance where only a note was left behind. Ty and Zane are reunited for a case in which they must collect and escort Julian Cross to D.C. Washington. But it seems once again that some one is trying to kill 'them', or like Zane says 'Julian'.

I can't tell you how much I was freaking smiling when Ty and Zane were reunited, my cheeks were sore. It was SO BEAUTIFUL!!!

Their PDA had my heart to bursting. When they made love it was so SWEET and BLOODY HELL!! It was really HOT HOT HOT!. My e-reader was getting fogged up. Things have really changed between them. They are FINALLY more open to their feelings and the things they said *SWOON*. OH and the gift... *sigh*

"Why a compass?" Ty asked.
Zane smiled and ran his thumb across the pendant. "Because you gave me direction when I was lost. You showed me the way." He looked up to meet Ty's eyes. "You're like my very own compass."
"Zane"
"I know, I know. I'm a sap."
"Maybe. But you're my sap," Ty said fondly. He reached for Zane and leaned in to kiss him.

Julian being another Alpha butted heads with Ty and Zane in the beginning. They really tried to annoy the living hell out each other and I was eating every minute of it. Their banter was HILARIOUSLY ENTERTAINING!! :D As the story progressed they ended up having respect for each other. I loved seeing them be on the same side and helping each other out. That's what I loved about this book, that the action had me gripped more than the action from any of the previous books.

Cameron, I ended up liking more in this book than the in Warrior's Cross. He was still kind of naive but it was kind of funny how he helped in one situation by putting his input. Oh and I forgot about the coffee machine cord ahhahaha. Cameron and Julian ended up being the example relationship that Ty and Zane want, out and proud.

Deuce made an appearance and with some very happy news!! Just had to add that because I LOVE Deuce ;)

Nick shows up in this one and although I didn't really like him after what happened with Ty. Like Zane, I myself, was not able to really hate the guy. The revelations Nick made to Zane about what Ty and him endured, Oh God HEART BREAKING!! Like I said before I hope Nick finds someone too :)

OMIGOD LOL!! I was really laughing when Julian left Smith and Wesson with Ty and Zane. It was too funny!

Overall I LOVED LOVED LOVED IT! I really hope to see all these characters together again! I mean they're gonna pick up the cats soon... right. :D

Warrior's Cross - Madeleine Urban 4 AMAZING STARS!!

After finding out that Julian and Cameron are in the Cut and Run series ,"Armed and Dangerous" I had to read this first. WOW I FREAKING LOVED THEM!! :D

I was ingtrigued by Julian Cross from the start. He was a total mystery. Cameron didn't know much about him except he always showed up at the restaurant on Tuesdays and sat at the same table and ordered the same things. Julian was a powerful bad-ass alpha, who seemed dangerous, was very good looking, quiet, and looked capable of doing harm. Yet Cameron never felt threatened or scared of him, instead he felt attracted to him.

Cameron Jacobs worked as a waiter in the restaurant Julian had become a regular to. Cameron was the total opposite of Julian. He was more friendly, and kinder in appearance as well as in attitude. He may even be weaker when compared to Julian but no less likeable to me. I understood Cameron completely in regards to his worry for not really knowing who Julian was. I would have thought he was stupid if he didn't freak out a bit.

I just LOVED the chemistry between Julian and Cam. They were such an adorable pair :) They may be opposites but together they are PERFECTION. OMG the first time they kissed and then had sex was really CALIENTE!!

I really enjoyed watching Julian act like a big baby from a dog attack. He was almost as funny as Ty Grady when he was intoxicated by his medication.

Towards the ending things started to pick up speed and the suspense was really exciting. But there was a sad part where I felt brokenhearted. Then also for the sorrow Cameron felt for six months. I would be pretty pissed too if I was mourning the person I loved when he was ALIVE the whole time!! But the reasons for why Julian did this was understandable, I guess, so he's forgiven. The ending was truly and perfectly sweet *sigh*, I was really happy with it!!

NOW I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE JULIAN AND CAM WITH MY BELOVED TY AND ZANE!!
TO MUCH HOTNESS!! *SWOON*

Beautiful Bastard - Christina Lauren I really thought I was going to love this book, but it was okaay...

Chloe Mills is working on her way to an MBA and can't stand her boss Bennett Ryan. He is a complete JERK to her but can't help but notice how beautiful he is. They constantly b*itch at each other but soon find themselves becoming friends with benefits.

image

For the entire first part of the book, it seemed to be about them having hot sweaty sex as many times as possible and as many locations as possible. I mean they had sex in a car, dressing room, elevator, wall, window, etc. It was HOT don't get me wrong, but there was no real character growth during this period. Oh and not to mention the first time they have sex, no communication on protection. Bennett also seems to be hoarding a collection of all of Chloe's used ripped panties.

image

After thier Wham, Bam, Thank You Ma'am moments, they went right back to hating each other. I didn't get a sense of a connection between these characters beyond lust. And when they did try to behave as though they were in a 'relationship', it just wasn't really believable to me.

image

I wish there was more of plot. I mean things didn't start moving forward til about 75 - 80% into the book. And then their ending was just kind of rushed and I felt myself wanting more because there wasn't any drama that interested me not a very satisfying conclusion. This book could have ended faster if most of the sex parts had been cut out in the beginning.

image

It wasn't terrible, just not great. But if you are looking for a book specifically for the smut, than this is the book for you.
