Luck of Love - Tiffany Aleman, Ashley Poch REVIEW TO COME...
Shattered Glass (Shattered Glass, #1) - Dani Alexander image
***5 Hilarious Bunny Slipper Stars***

image

“I'm not gay.” That wasn't what I meant to say.
“Congratulations. Would you like a medal?” Bunny Slippers asked.
“I already have a medal. For bravery, not for being gay. I think you made me gay.”
“I made you gay?” He set down the napkin he was holding. “Is that better or worse than the person who made you stupid?”

Austin Glass is engaged and already preparing for his upcoming wedding. He comes from a wealthy family and is working with the FBI. Everything soon changes when he meets "Bunny Slippers" --who works in a diner-- which was what he was staring at when he was waiting for an informant to arrive. There is something about him that called him and it all started with those bunny slippers. He finds him beautiful and intriguing. Soon, he finds himself questioning if he might in fact be gay and finds the truth in all of the emotions and memories of his past that he has kept deeply buried inside himself.

And f*ck it, I'm not gay. Goddammit.
I'm bunny-slipper-sexual?

*****************

“The fact that I was more comfortable owning up to the slippers thing and not the c*cksucker thing was mildly disturbing. I’d rather have a footwear fetish than a sudden attraction to penises? Yeah, that sounded about right."

*****************

...Bunny Slippers propped his shoulder against the wall, cocking his head slightly as he looked toward my car. My breath halted. I was sure he couldn't see me through the darkened windows, but somehow, it felt like he was seeing right into my slipper-obsessed soul.
The bunny slippers, a different pair --and how many did he have for f*ck's sake?

I freaking LOVED Austin!!! He was so freaking hilarious! I loved his witty humor, even if it was a tad bit on the rude side, who cares, I LOVED it! Then when he accepts he is gay, he wasn't annoying about how he really wasn't. He embraced it and didn't care what others thought of him, even if it still did hurt a bit. He was really honest, brutally at times, and made no apologies for being himself. He felt unworthy of love due to his parents never really giving him any. So I really enjoyed seeing how Peter affected him and making him question love. He went through a very tough situation as a teen. He lost a friend and never really dealt with it. So, he hides behind his sarcasm and jokes so no one can see him completely. But soon Peter changes everything and he finds himself willing to do almost anything for him, even if they have only have met in such a short amount of time.
image
I LOVED Peter aka "Bunny Slippers" too! He was only twenty years old but he was so mature for his age. He had to raise and support himself and Cai--who is bipolar-- with the help of Darryl by any means possible, which led him to prostitution. Peter loves them both dearly, so he would do absolutely anything to make sure they are safe and taken cared of. Which is what he does when Cai is accused of murder. His upbringing was really terrible, I felt for him and all that he had to witness at such a young age. When Austin shows interest in him, he thinks that all he wants is his body, that he can never be interested in the person. It was really sad that he had to learn how to hide his emotions so well so that no one would worry about him. He was the one always caring for others and never asking for anything in return. I really loved him!

“Rabbit's the rock we cling to when we're drowning. He needs a mountain to hold him up, not another storm that'll wear away at him.”

****************

"You're a manipulative as*hole, you know that?"
"You love it."
"Only when your manipulations are to get into my pants."
"Yes, my so clever manipulations to get into your pants. What were those again?"
"Breathing. Talking. Existing."

*****************
"You're rich, spoiled and used to getting your way," he said stubbornly.
"Not true. If I had my way you would have kissed me and ridden me like a cowboy while screaming 'yeehaw'."
"What makes you think
you won't ride me?"

*****************
”Tell me something good about your life”
“You”

image

Overall, it was really well written and I loved all of Austin's inner dialogue. It was so funny to see the banter between Austin and Luis as well. The chemistry between the two main characters was very enjoyable. Their relationship was built slowly. There was steam although not a lot but still it was good. The secondary characters were highly entertaining. I really liked Darryl, he had funny moments and was loyal. I absolutely loved Cai, he was really intelligent, talented and had an innocence that just endeared you. I wanted to hug him and keep him in my pocket! It was so cute how he ended up having a crush on Riley. I am SO excited and HIGHLY anticipating Cai's story! I LOVED this book and I can't say enough how good it was to me. I definitely recommend you give this a try.

Brooke Dumas goes to an underground fight with her best friend Melanie, who cannot stop talking about how hot Remington "Riptide" Tate is. Remington is wildly popular and a favorite of the crowd for being an unbeatable fighter. When he finally comes out onto the ring she can't help but agree with her best friend. One look is all it took to feel a rush of emotions for him, mostly arousal, and she doesn't really like that she is feeling it. The connection is too intense so she leaves, but Remington is not ready to for her to leave. He wants to get to know her and claim her.

image

Brooke is a recent graduate and looking for work as a sports PT. When Remington asks her to see her in his hotel room, she wasn't expecting to be offered a job by him. It's a great opportunity so she accepts the job even if she is tremendously attracted to him. She wants him bad.

"...I have never been more aware of my body and all its inner and outer parts than when I interact with this one man. I just don't even know if I can ever get used to it. Can ever make him stop doing this to me. Can ever let myself 'own' the fact that --yes, this man drives my body out of control."

The first part of the book had me feeling all kinds of hot!! Brooke wasn't the only one having her hormones in a frenzy for Remington. I could seriously Not handle the sexual frustration in this book. I felt like I would Die! I liked Brooke in the beginning but later she started to annoy me a tad. There was too much dialogue of her adoration for Remington, how hot he was, how his masculinity was godly, and that he was crazy ripped with muscles, etc. I kind of felt like 'Yeah, I get it already. HE'S FREAKING HOT!' I also thought some of the things she compared things to were a bit... odd. I did like that she never gave up. She was once aspiring to be in the Olympics when an injury caused her to never be able to compete. So I did like that about her. She was strong, independent, and very driven.

image

Remington Tate, well what is there to say that wasn't already said by Brooke in the book. HE WAS A SEXY BEAST! He had me turned on and I was only a few pages in! He was a total Alpha, cocky, passionate, and tortured. He was the best fighter there was. But he has trouble with expressing himself and showing exactly what he is feeling. He also has crazy mood swings which caused him to be kicked out of the pro league.

"You'll leave me the second it gets too steep, and you'll leave me with nothing --when I want you like I've never wanted anything in my life. You're all I think about, dream about. I get high and low and it's all about you now, it's not even about me anymore. I can't sleep, can't think, can't concentrate worth sh*t anymore and it's all because I want to be the fucking 'one' for you and as soon as you realize what I am, all I'll be is a f*cking mistake!"

I thought he was über yummy but I wanted to know more about him. It took over half the book to finally to get to know his story. It was a sad one and I really felt for him. I loved that he had Riley and Pete to take care of him. Their methods may not have always been the best in my eyes, but they loved him like a brother and were just trying to protect him. I really loved the scenes where they exchanged songs, I thought it was super sweet and had me melting! I wanted to hug him so bad with how tender he could be.

image

Overall, I felt like the first part of the book was good, but dragged on a bit too much. Like I said, the sexual tension was really scorching hot! The second part I enjoyed the most, even if some parts were a bit predictable. The epilogue was in Remington's POV and it just left me wanting more of him. I am definitely going to check out the next installment. Can't wait!

image

Ayden doesn't remember anything before a group of Lycans attacked her. She is driven by her revenge and wants the Lycans who bit her to suffer as she did. She decides to get the help of the Sons of Wrath -- a group of demon warriors-- to help her find the Lycans, so, she signs a contract with them. But on one night of killing Lycans, she stumbles upon a Halfling, Kane Walker who has recently been bitten and is already going through his change. When he touched her, she sees a few pieces of memories that feel familiar to her. He is her key into finding out who bit her and maybe even about her past. She needs the information he has before his change is complete and time is running out.

image

Ayden was one badass chick and I LOVED her! She was tough and just plain awesome! Killing Kane after the seven days was supposed to be easy for her, but she never counted on feelings to blossom for him, the enemy. I enjoyed seeing her come out of her shell a little bit as the story progressed. She saw herself almost like a cancer when it came to relationships. So I loved how Kane was able to make her feel.

image

Kane Walker was one SEXY Lycan Halfling! *swoon* He was a doctor at a Children's Cancer hospital. He was walking to his car when he was attacked by Lycans that caused him to change. He is a really nice, sweet, funny, and HOT man! He seriously had my panties melting! He kept trying to stay in control for Ayden and never let his beast come out. He was also possessive and I loved it! I don’t what else to say about him, I really loved him.

image

Then there were the Sons of Wrath -- Gavin, Zeke, Calix, Logan, and Zayne. What a Hot group of Demons. I liked them all, especially Zeke, he was a total flirt with a dirty mouth. Well, also Gavin, He was loyal, sweet sometimes, and such a great guy, for being a Demon and all. I am wishing him the best in the next book. But I did love them all, you just can't not like any of them. I am really interested in Zayne and hopefully we will get to learn more about him.

image

The scenes of all of them fighting Lycans, was AWESOME!! I just could not get enough of their badassness! I want more! Oh, and I hated Wade with a passion. I could not stand him and what he was doing with the Alexi. Just had to say it!

image

The writing in this book was great! I loved the alternate POV's of several characters and how everything about this world was well explained for the reader. The storyline kept me interested throughout the book, so I never felt bored. I recommend this for any of you paranormal fans out there. It was truly Awesome! I am so looking forward to reading more of this series. Thank you to Keri Lake, for allowing me to read your amazing work! I can't wait to read more!

They're agreement is coming to a close which means, the painting is almost completed. They can't seem to get enough of each other and both are dreading the day it's all over. Damien Stark wants to keep Nikki in his life and Nikki is more than happy to stay. But one thing is still missing, Nikki needs for Damien to open up to her wholly as she has done for him. Their relationship is now in the public eye and secrets are being kept, making their future look not too clear.

"You belong here,"he says. "Wherever I am, you belong. You're mine," he says. "Say it"
"I am. I am yours."

I really enjoyed the story in this book. It dealt more with Damien's issues and him trying to overcome them. In the first book, we saw the tough upbringing that Nikki tried to deal with in a way that wasn't healthy. Now, we are learning about Damien's past which is quite heartbreaking and sad. He suffered abuse and had only himself to look out for himself. He had no one to talk to and a father who only cared about the money his son was bringing in than his well being. I loved Damien and his willingness to try for Nikki. He wasn't perfect but he was able to show how strong he was, even if what he was doing resulted in them getting hurt.

Nikki really impressed me in this book, she seemed tougher and more confident than in the last book. I was most impressed during the ending. She really proved to everyone just how strong she really was. I loved her! The paparazzi, scandals, and outside people were trying to get in the way of their relationship but she held her chin-up during most of it. She has definitely grown a lot to me.

image

The sex scenes were really hot and steamy! It has definitely improved. I loved how sexy Damien was and how their love was able to shine through. There was one scene that was a bit difficult but Nikki seemed to be okay with it. Plus, Damien had me melting so many times. I just couldn't get enough of him being dominant and possesive.

Overall I really liked this book. It was tough to get into for me in the beginning but thankfully it improved and I was liking every moment of it after that. I am so glad that there was no cliffhanger. There could have been one and I would have died before the next book came out but there wasn't. Thank you so much J. Kenner! *phew* I am really looking forward to reading the next book! I can't wait!

Rules of Entanglement (Fighting for Love, #2) - Gina L. Maxwell ***4 Stars***

Vanessa McGregor is in Hawaii, to help her best friend Lucie for her wedding. When Jackson “Jax” Maris, MMA fighter and Lucie's brother, picks her up from the airport late, he informs her that they will have to usurp Lucie and Reid for all of the wedding planning because they aren't there yet due to Lucie being ill. If they don't do this, the wedding planner will cancel the wedding. Jax is intrigued by how Vanessa was quick to dismiss him after showing up late to pick her up. So he would do anything to spend as much time with her during her trip. Vanessa is attracted to Jax but she has rules she lives by. Rules that she believes in and would never break. But Jax is determined to make her do just that, break her rules to let the real Vanessa come out.

Vanessa’s Lucky 7 Rules To Live By:

7. Never take your responsiblities lightly.
6. Never indulge in the poison of lies.
5. Never let a fling last more than three days.
4. Never date a man who chooses fists over words.
3. Never date a man who lacks a stable future.
2. Never relinquish control.
1. Never fall in love.

I loved Vanessa’s feisty personality, strength, independence, and wittiness. She didn’t back down to anyone. She wasn’t perfect, though, and her tough upbringing made her into the woman she is today. Her past is what had inspired her to have structure and order in her life, which is why she came up with her rules.

”Baby, I admire you so much. More than ever I know you’re the strongest woman I’ve ever met.”
Vanessa shook her head, but he quickly put a stop to it.
“Yes, you are.” He prevented any further dispute by capturing her mouth with his for a sweet kiss.

image

”Dark and Delicious. Those were the first words that popped into her head.”

I was swooning over Jax. He was super sexy, confident, an alpha, and very laid back. He was really HOT but also so SWEET. I wouldn’t care if he lied to me at all. I loved how he was able to get Vanessa to put her hair down. I would be begging him to take control! Seriously, had me swooning!

Oh, he was definitely doable. Did Hawaiians have the saying “Save a surfboard, ride a surfer”? If not, she was totally starting it.

imageimage

”Dancing is no different than sex. It’s all about moving with your partner. Finding a rhythm together.”

They had some great ”Fun” times. I mean some smoking hot good times. The Tequila body shots and the waterfall scene had me drooling for him. There were also moments of tenderness that were so awesome! *sigh* Oh and his nickname for her had me laughing "Pupule Wahine". I googled it as soon as he said it, haha!

”Feel my skin on yours. Feel me inside you. Feel how perfect you fit me. Just feel, okay?”

image

Their banter had me chuckling, and their chemistry was very enjoyable to read. I really loved the story. It was a fun sexy read!! I definitely recommend it. I wonder if Vanessa's sister will be having a book, too?

Kaitlin is a twenty-one year old college student that is trying to move on from her past. Until one day when Detective Devon Walkerson notifies her that her estranged mother has gone missing. She now finds herself being guardian to her two siblings, Neri (fifteen years old) and Sam aka “Sambo” (five years old), while still going to college. She ends up having to look for a job in order to support them all and finds it in a high class adult establishment. While Devon is updating Kait on the case and checking in to see how they are all doing, an attraction blooms between them.

Kait went through a terrible event, left her home at seventeen and never looked back. Now she finds herself feeling guilty for never going back to see her sister and brother. But she also feels like a terrible person for not feeling anything when it comes to her mother. She desperately needs a job that can fit her schedule so she can still go to school. She accepts the job of receptionist in a brothel because the pay is really good and won’t compromise her time with her family.

image

It was funny to see all the inner ramblings of her mind when it came to Devon. But I really felt for her for how hot and cold Devon was with her. I don't know how she could stand him doing that to her so many times. I really liked Kait because she was confident, independent, funny, and a little bit of a perv. Despite what she went through in her past, she was comfortable being herself. She wasn’t perfect though, and there were some parts I didn’t know what to think by how she was feeling. I did enjoyed seeing her interact with her adorable little brother Sambo and build a relationship with her sister Neri. I also was very happy to see her have such an amazing supportive best friend and roommate in Ara.

Devon I really liked in the beginning. I loved how flirty he was, and he definitely made me swoon a few times but I struggled to really understand him. One moment he was sexy and blatantly obvious with his attraction to Kait and the next he was distancing himself from her because he can’t have a relationship with someone connected to his case. He continued this behavior for most of the book, asking for second chances and it was really frustrating for me. A part of me wanted her to forget him and another kind of wanted him to say how he felt.

image

I think that was what I needed more of, for both of these characters to talk more and to stop jumping each other after a few seconds. Even if it was quite steamy, I needed them to communicate so I could fully understand their actions and feelings because there were some moments I didn’t really get what was going on in their minds. He later reveals to Kait the event that has caused him to be reluctant to love but it didn’t excuse him of his rudeness to me. I was left wanting more from him.

image

Overall, it was an enjoyable read. I am looking forward to seeing if Devon will open up more and to see what is in store for Kait in the next book.

"Do you know what passion is?"
I blink, confused.
"Most people think it only means desire. Arousal. Wild abandon. But that’s not all. The word derives from the Latin. It means suffering. Submission. Pain and pleasure, Nikki. Passion."

Nikki Fairchild is attending an art exhibition as a new assistant to Carl, her boss from C-Squared Technologies. Carl is eager to make acquaintances with several possible investors but the one he is interested in the most is Damien Stark, a successful business man. Nikki has met Damien once before when she was competing in a beauty pageant. Now she has to capture his interest so that he will invest in their product. The moment their eyes meet, she feels a strong desire for him. But she is determined to keep a professional relationship between them despite the insistence for more from Damien.

“Possess. Have. Hold. Enjoy. Control. Dominate. Pick your verb, Ms. Fairchild. I intend to explore so very many of them.”

image

Damien Stark is a billionaire and ex professional tennis player turned successful entrepreneur. He is a very sexy man and anything he wants he gets. But he is damaged from events of his past and it is a secret he keeps deeply guarded. He doesn’t let anyone see more than the mask he wears. I really loved Damien! He was an alpha, kinky, confident, possessive and seemingly dangerous man. He had my panties combusting throughout the book! He was that HOT! He sees Nikki Fairchild again and he feels a strong connection to her. He has been obsessed with Nikki since he saw her at the pageant and will do anything he can to have her. I thought these two characters complimented each other very well. I enjoyed their interactions and how they were healing each other in a way.

”I’m not strong. I’m weak.”
“Weak? The hell you are. You’re not weak, Nikki. You’re powerful. You’re a survivor. When I hold you I can feel the power in you. It’s like holding a live wire.
That’s why I want you, baby.”

Nikki Fairchild also has a dark past with secrets that have tormented her. She hasn’t told many of her past and those who she has told know very little. She feels like with Damien, she can tell him her truth.
She has been attracted to Damien since that day she first saw him. And now her desire for him is stronger than ever. Damien makes her an offer she can’t refuse. Even I don’t think I could refuse to be his, I’d even pay to be his for a week! I liked Nikki and despite all of her issues and methods for coping, I thought she was a really Strong woman. I love that she was feisty and independent. The only issue I had with her was how quickly she trusted him, she didn’t even know him well and yet still had kinky sex with him. But otherwise, I really did like her.

image

“Why?” I whisper. “Why does everything fall away when I’m with you?”
“Because there’s nothing else,” he answers. “Nothing but you and me.”

The sex in this book was a really fogging up my e-reader HOT! But in my opinion, it wasn’t very BDSM. Sure, Damien was domineering in bed and he liked to control all aspects of Nikki’s life, but all of the sex scenes were not that intense. They were just very sexy and hot. I’m hoping the next book will be more intense in this department.

”You’re mine,” he says.
“I know,” I reply, and I mean it completely.

image

There were parts in the story that were definitely similar to “Fifty Shades Of Grey” and “Bared To You”. I kind of wish, that it wasn’t so similar. I am not saying it was 100% exactly the same, but you couldn’t help but notice the similarities. Still, I really did like the book. It ended on a happy note and there is still a lot more to learn about these characters but there was no cliffhanger to worry about. Now you don’t have to go completely crazy in waiting what happens next. I really enjoyed this book and am very much looking forward to reading the next installment.

Dr. Jack Francisco has just witnessed the murder of a woman, Maria Dominguez, in a parking lot as he was walking to his car. Now, Jack finds himself in WITSEC and having to testify against the men he saw commit the crime. D is a hit man and being blackmailed into killing a witness. He shows up at Jack's house ready to do the deed, but he couldn't do it. He couldn't take an innocent life away for doing nothing wrong. So now, D is determined to protect him from whoever wants him dead. They spend two months together in hiding before the trial, in which their connection starts to turn into more. But Jack will soon be moved away with a new identity after he is done testifying. Now, neither of them wants to say goodbye.

"I ain't no hero."
"Well, you're my hero."

I loved D!! Seriously LOVED him! He was a man who felt nothing and was living his life mechanically, just doing a job. He felt so undeserving of anything good or kind, like what Jack wanted to give him because of the things he had done. He knew his soul was condemned and didn't want to drag someone like Jack down too. So he kept himself deep inside and never let anyone in. My heart broke for him, when he revealed the loss he had suffered. He was a really good guy, maybe what he was doing wasn't good, but still I wanted him to see that there was good in him. He was caring and even though he didn't know how to show it, he loved wholeheartedly. This book had so many inner monologues but it actually worked for me. I loved reading what was going on inside D's head. Oh, and I loved his accent. He made me freaking melt and swoon! ♥♥♥

"Ta think 'bout how close I was ta killin' you," he said, his voice choking and wobbling over those words. "And if I had I'd never known what I'd really done, who it was that I'd taken from this world or how much the world needed him. Tears me up thinkin' on never knowin' you or lovin' you. Cain't hold it in my mind too long before it burns."

I also really liked Jack. He was really funny to me because of how naive he was to D's world. He was not afraid to be himself. I loved that as the book progressed he became stronger and more confident in trying to take care of himself. He didn't want to keep relying on others for his safety. He was a surgeon who worked on reconstructing peoples faces. The story of the little girl's face he had to reconstruct, pulled at my heart strings. Jack is a very loving and kind person. He was exactly what D needed in his life. Together they were such a great couple! *sigh*

"Do you really know how much you've changed since we met?" D didn't know what to say. "Because I see it, and it's astonishing. And how you were with me... you were suppose to kill me, you were rough, you were brutal and you made no bones about it. I thought I'd fear you, and I should have hated you, but somehow you made me love you." D blinked up at Jack's face, his steady blue eyes not letting him go. "Yeah, you heard me," Jack whispered.

There were many sweet tender moments between them that I could not stop melting. By the end of the book, I had to be mopped off the floor. The first time they had sex, I was like, "Is this really happening?" It just happened so fast and out of the blue that I thought one of them was dreaming, but no, it was real. All the scenes were very steamy. D was struggling to accept that he may be gay, while Jack was okay with accepting that for himself. It took a while for D to stop holding back and give into what he was feeling.

image

The action in this book was so AWESOME!! I loved every moment of it. I forgot to mention that I also very much loved Churchill and Megan!! They were the BEST back up ever!

Pulling Jack down with him and rolling him to his back, scooping up Jack's mouth with his own. "Mmm," he growled. "Taste sweet," he whispered.
"I went out for a mocha."
"Nah. Think its just you," D said, smiling crookedly, lifting one hand to flick a lock of hair from jack's forehead. Jack melted a little.

There were moments of sadness in this book that had me quite teary-eyed, but the ending was just beautiful. I felt so happy for them! I couldn't stop smiling. I am hoping the sequel comes out soon because I can't wait to read more of this pair!

Touch & Geaux - Abigail Roux ***Buddy Read with Drunken Panda and Pervy Melissa***

***5 OMG! I FREAKING LOVED IT!! IT WAS AMAZING! MY NEW FAVOURITE OF THE SERIES!! STARS***

image

I could not wait to dive in and creep on my two beautiful men, Ty & Zane. I was not disappointed. The writing in this book was THE BEST out of all in the series. Brilliant work, Abigail! I could not put this book down from the start. In the previous books, the plot was not as engaging and the romance was what really had you hooked. Whereas in this one, the action was through the roof. I was thoroughly entertained, to say the least. I was panting, my heart was pounding and I needed to continue to see what would happen next. I. Could. Not. Stop. There was not very much romance but that didn’t stop me from loving this book. And, I did enjoy seeing how Ty’s team Sidewinder, Nick, Owen, Kelly, Digger, worked together. They were a great bunch of men!

image

In the beginning, there were some sweet moments that had me melting. They are just TOO adorable together! *sigh* But then comes the big turn of events and everything goes down the drain. Ty had been keeping a HUGE secret from Zane. When the secret is revealed, I freaking cried so badly for Zane. I couldn’t stand their fighting, and they fought a lot in this book. I was hurting SO badly for both of them. I really wanted Zane to trust Ty again, but then I see where he is coming from and understand why he is so hesitant. Then I see Ty apologizing, but not for everything, and I want Zane to forgive him anyways. Everything Ty did was for Zane and I desperately wanted Zane to see that, that his love was genuine. I just wanted them to stop hurting. The bar fight scene, the things they said to each other… CRUSHED. ME. I was an emotional wreck.

"I just need to be able to trust you, Ty," he whispered.
"You can. I swear you can. I'd die for you, Zane."
Zane's heart was in his throat as he studied Ty's profile. "I know."

******************************************************

"After everything we've been through, why the hell can't you believe me?"
"Because you lie."

******************************************************

"I know it. I will never be the man you think I am."
Zane's breaths came harder. "We've both been trying so hard to be worthy of each other."

image

"I love you, Zane," Ty gasped. "Nothing I've done will ever change that."

There weren’t very many tender moments in this book, with all the drama that occurred. I thought it would bother me, to not see them so lovey dovey as they were in the previous book. But, like I said, the action really hooked me and I felt what I was given, was just enough. I cherished any sweet moment they shared. There were still some steamy scenes that were hot and beautiful but that couch scene took the crown. It was SO CALIENTE! I will be remembering that for a LONG while. *fans self*

image

Liam Bell, was a new character who use to be part of Ty's team. I did not like him from the beginning, even if he was somewhat intriguing. He was giving me all kinds of bad vibes. I still don’t like him, he just seems like bad news. I don’t understand him. He was just too shady and confusing. That is what made him so freaking scary, the fact that you can’t define him and know that he may be capable of anything. I am interested to see if he will be making another appearance in the next book. I'm keeping my eyes on him.

"You were worth it," Ty murmured.

The Ending! OMG! The ending! I was stunned speechless! I was feeling so many emotions. I was SHOCKED, HAPPY, SAD, and CONFUSED. I was not expecting that freaking ending! Why Abigail! Why are you trying to kill me? I NEED the next book NOW! It was a terrible cliffhanger. I can’t freaking wait for the next book! I would read it regardless, just because I LOVE my TY & ZANE! We'll see what the next book has in store.

"I dreamed a dream."

Parker "Shy" Cage thinks it's time to finally set Tabitha Allen straight. He does not like the road her life is headed, but all he ends up doing is hurting her deeply and losing her completely. Tabby was left heartbroken after Shy judged her so harshly. Years later, she is over her teenage crush and moving on with her life. Shy hasn't spoken or seen much of Tabby since the night he made her cry. He wants her back in his life the way they were before but Tabby has already moved on and is very happy without him. Unfortunately, tragedy strikes Tabby's life and she doesn't know what to do. Shy comes in to try to help her put her pieces back together and Tabby lets him back into her life. She finds her feelings for him are rekindling and they both can't seem to stay away.

"Thank you for bringing me back to me."

image

"May feel like you're fallin', Tabby, but remember, I'm at the bottom ready to catch you."

I freaking LOVED Shy!! He was made me SWOON like crazy! Where can I get me one of him haha!! He was an alpha badass, but he was SO sweet and somewhat different from the other alpha characters KA has written. I think he wasn't as domineering and it could be because he was younger, but I found that I really liked that about him. He was more understanding and maybe more open. There were moments where I just wanted to comfort him and others where I wanted to lick him up! I really loved the way he treated Tabby. You could really see his love and respect for her. He didn't let the clubs 'old' ways, interfere with how their relationship was going to be like.

"Shy, she's yours, that's what you say. Control your woman," High demanded. "Get her ass out."
"Tab and I don't play it that way. You wanna order your old lady around, do what you do, not for me to say. I asked her to go, she didn't go. Not gonna make her. But you try, you'll deal with me."

I also really loved Tabby! She was the daughter of the President of Chaos MC, Tack. (Which reminds me, I recommend you really read the Dream Man series, so you can understand some of the characters better) She was a very strong young woman, who didn't take crap from anyone. She was super caring and understanding as well. Seeing her with Shy, made my heart melt because of how perfect they were together as a couple. I thought they were freaking adorable! Oh and you have to remember to lick your lips in front of Shy! What it does to him... freaking HOT!

"Don't be f*ckin' cute and, honest to God, if you lick your lip, I'll lose my mind."

image

There was also a part where all of the Dream series cast were together again. I almost died! I fear my ovaries will never function the same way again Lol! The epilogue was beautiful! I swear Shy just turns me into a freaking puddle of goo! It was really heartwarming! I only wish it was a bit longer but I still really loved it! I am also kind of interested in what is happening between Hop and Lanie. At first I didn`t really care but now I`m intrigued. Plus, I want to see more of Shy lol! So I am definitely going to check that one out.

"I dreamed a dream when I was sixteen and here I am, standing with my dream, feeling it come real"
"F*ck me," He muttered.
Then I knew he'd lost patience, because Shy slanted his head and kissed me.

If It Flies - Aleksandr Voinov, L.A. Witt 3 Stars

Spencer has been wasting his time away just working and doing nothing else. He feels lonely but isn't looking for a relationship either. His friend, Percy, suggests they go to Market Garden, so he could finally have some fun. Spencer hesitates but then agrees to come along. That is where he meets Nick, a blunt, cocky Dom rentboy, and he can't help but feel an attraction to him. They agree to spend a couple hours together and Spencer can't wait to have more.

image

I am a BIG fan of Aleksandr Voinov! So, I really hate to say it, but, I really didn't feel this book. I absolutely loved the first two of the series. In this book, I just couldn't feel that spark between the characters like I had with Tristan and Jared in the previous books. Even the sex scenes were very low in steam for me. I was hoping it would get better but it stayed the same throughout the book. It was still very good writing, though, and I did appreciate that it was longer. That way I got to know the Spencer and Nick a little better. But I guess, I just really miss Tristan and Jared. I hope they decide to write more about them.

"I think for you to understand this story, you must first become a part of it."

This is not your ordinary Erotic novel, this was an intensely heartbreaking story. I was captivated by the mystery that surrounded Chateau Tibideau from the very beginning. I could not put this down.

"Love looks not with the eyes but with the mind, and, therefore, is winged cupid painted blind."

Phillipe Tibideau thinks it's time for the real story to be told, the story about her, Chantel Rosenberg. He invites journalist, Gemma Harris, to stay several months in his Chateau, so she can write about how things really occured. Gemma can't believe she is staying at Chateau Tibideau for a few months, regardless to the warnings she had received about Phillipe. Why is this once famous artist, that is now living in seclusion, being referred to as a 'Beautiful Monster'. She is determined to find out the truth, and to see if all the assumptions made in the media about him, have any validity to them. Gemma, is given Chantel's journal, so she can get inside her head during the time Chantel had a relationship with Phillipe. Gemma never knew, she would never be the same.

image

Phillipe was so intense, that he constantly had my heart racing. There was just this mysterious sexiness to him but also a haunting sadness that would enthrall you and not let go. No matter how scary at times he behaved, a part of you still wanted to stay to discover the real man beneath that broken exterior, the man that was written in that journal. He had me in a constant arousal throughout the book and his seduction wasn't just affecting Gemma, but me as well. I could actually feel the touches, the soft breaths, and the smooth sound of his voice caress my skin. The sex scenes were Really HOT, I am talking high steam here. You will really love it!

"Beauty." There's a pregnant pause before he repeats himself louder. "Beauty inspired me."
"Beauty of the world?"
"No, beauty of a woman. One woman."

I have never felt a connection so strong to a character as I felt with Gemma. I felt and thought everything she was feeling and thinking. It was almost as if we were one and the same. It was like I was having my own taste of what Gemma was going through when reading Chantel's journal. The writing was just truly brilliant. I became addicted to Phillipe and Chantel's love story but also how Gemma seemed to intertwine with them and become obsessed with Chantel. Throughout the story, it felt as though Chantel was never gone, you could always feel her presence in some way.

image

The book was written in such a way, that you could see everything that was happening as if you were watching a movie reel being played inside your head. Except that you feel as though you are a part of it, not just spectating it. I loved the idea of incorporating those interactions, it brought everything to life and really helped me have an engaging reading experience. I was using the interactions while reading and my senses were completely titillated. I found myself being swept away by the beautiful music and paintings. I give big props to Ella Frank for including this great idea into her book.

"I want you to play for me"
"What would you like me to play?"
"...how about something that will haunt me?"
"That I can do"

This is definitely a story that will stick with me for a very long time. I have never felt such a raw heartache from reading a book. Ella Frank struck gold when writing this fantastic book. I definitely recommend you experience this beautiful and intense tragic story for yourself. So make sure to grab a copy on April 9th!! Thank you to Ella Frank for allowing me to read such an AMAZING book!!

Quay has finally arrived and the wait felt like forever!! It started off with the prologue which had me really tearing up. You get to see a bit of the life of Quinn when he was still a pretrans. I really hate his parents, especially his father. I despised how low they made him feel, to the point of where he suffered severe depression. Thank God for Blay! Without him, I don't even want to think what would have happened to him. All he wanted was to belong and be loved, and he continued to feel this way into his Adult Vampire life.

"...he wanted his family to love him. He felt the love among them. And the only thing more powerful than that connection... was what it was like to get shut out from it. Every fucking day of your life."

Quinn feels he should explain to Blay the type of relationship he has with Layla because he knows Blay had feelings for him. Unfortunately, Blay doesn't believe Quinn when he says it isn't a romantic relationship, considering he bedded her and she could be pregnant. This is how it went for most of the story. Quinn wanting to be with Blay but not wanting to think further into his sexuality and feelings. And Blay not believing Quinn wanted more from him than just sex. Blay felt he had been rejected to many times to give himself completely to Quinn. I have to admit, it got really frustrating how much they were holding back. Especially Blay, he didn't want to tell Quinn that Saxton had broken up with him and kept using him as a shield. Really annoying!

Saxton finally finishes the task that he has been working on for months, on Wrath's orders. This is when he decides he needs a break and goes on a little vacation. He breaks up with Blay because he can't keep going on with him as they were. He is starting to feel more and he knows that it will never be reciprocated. I really liked Saxton in this book, I felt like he dealt with everything in the best manner possible. To me, he is a great male of worth and I hope he finds happiness with another male soon.

"I never meant to get emotionally involved."
"I'm so sorry, I'm... I'm so sorry... I would give anything to be different. I wish I could.... be different."
"I know. I forgive you -- and you need to forgive yourself."

Layla has gotten pregnant but she finds she may not be for very long. She is bleeding and is at risk of loosing her young. She is devastated and doesn't want to fail Quinn. But thanks to some help, her pregnancy becomes stable. Xcor seems to still invade her mind, she can't forget him even though she knows she could never be with the enemy.

His broad chest pumping up and down, his mouth slightly open. He looked harsh, the thin veil of civility stripped from his features -- or more aptly, it had likely never been there. And yet though others would have called him ugly because of his deformity, to her... he was beautiful.

Wrath really impressed me with his kickass speech. I wanted to laugh at the glymera by how uneasy they were. Really it was laughable! I loved that he changed the law for inducting members into the brotherhood. I think this could be very advantageous for them, in having more fighters in the field. Looking forward to see who else ends up being inducted.

"I will not, however, hesitate to treat any insurgency against me and mine as the act of a traitor. And if you think what my father did was violent, you haven't seen a goddamn thing yet. I will make those deaths look merciful. I swear on my lineage."

Assail really had me intrigued in this book. I am thinking he will get a book next. He ends up meeting Sola, who I've got to say... it pretty badass, after she is hired to gather some information on him. I very much enjoyed their chemistry. Assail had me feeling all kinds of hot!! I can't wait to see how his story will unfold.

"And I say to you, do you honestely think it ends like this."
"I'm giving you what you want."
"Not even close," he growled

*************

"I have plans to pick this up where we've been innterrupted. Just so that you know." His glowing eyes raked over her body. "This is not over between you and me."

Trez's parts in the beginning were kind of boring to me. Now, I want to know more about this shadow. He also seems to want to claim the chosen Selena as his own but he has been promised to a female from his world since birth. Let's see how that develops.

Trez instantly hardened, his body swelling with the need to go over to the female, pick her up, and carry her to somewhere private. Where he could mark her.

Xcor, I am really hoping he turns into a good guy. I can see that he has potential to change for Layla. I know there is good in him and just is the way he is because of his upbringing. I wish he would stop his plans of dethroning Wrath. I do feel bad for him though, because he doesn't think himself unworthy of love because of his physical defects.

"You are in my dreams," he murmured. "Every day, you haunt me. Your scent, your voice, your eyes... this mouth. I cannae believe you let me touch you." His voice grew hoarse. "I shall remember this for all my nights."

Luchas, WTF, I couldn't believe he had been preserved all this time! I still don't like him for what he did to Quinn. I feel better keeping him at arms length, but let's see if I change my opinion of him in the next books.

"I have always, and will always, be your blood. No piece of paper can change that."
"I think Father would very much disagree with you."
"He's dead. So his opinion is no longer relevant."

image

The sex scenes in this book were explosive!! Really HOT!! I loved how they weren't all about sex. There was a level of intimacy to them. I loved every moment of it. The only thing I would have wanted to see, was a mating scene with both of their bonding scents and everything, but still very pleased.

Their journey has been a long one. Even in this book, it takes a while for them to finally give in to what they feel. But I will admit, I wanted more! It felt like there were very little scenes of them together, and maybe a little rushed at the end. While I was waiting for them to be a couple, I was being entertained by the subplots. The only thing I still don't like are the scenes involving lessers, it just bores me. But Assail made up for that, there is just something about him that really interests me.

I am a real sucker for a good HEA and I am pleased to say J.R. Ward did not disappoint. OMG!! The ending!... AMAZING! I was a so freaking blissfully happy with how it all concluded for them. It was so beautiful! At last, they are together! *Sigh*

"You've always had me... and my heart. My soul. Everything. I just wish it hadn't taken this long for me to man up."
"There is nothing wrong with who and what you have always been. I'm proud of you. And I love you. Now... and always."

50 Shades of Gay

50 Shades of Gay - Jeffery Self 2.75 - 3 Stars

Alex Kirby is an aspiring writer, who has had a "crush" on Taylor Grayson for a long time. Taylor Grayson is Hollywood leading man and a closeted gay who is into BDSM. After Alex's roomate, Matty, gets the flu, he asks Alex to cover for him and interview Taylor for 'The Star Report'. Of course, Alex jumps right on the chance. During the interview, Taylor is an nervous and aroused mess and can't seem to figure out why Taylor keeps winking at him. Is he interested or just being friendly? He soon finds out its the former.

'It isn't that I'm some psycho Taylor Grayson stalker by any means, far from it... but I'd be lying if I claimed I hadn't masturbated, on multiple occasions, the moment in his new movie trailer where he does something like forty pull ups without taking a break.'

If you didn't already know from the title, this book was inspired by the 50 Shades of Grey trilogy. The books are similar in some ways but I wouldn't say it was a complete copy of the books. And don't worry, there is no inner goddess in this book, thank god! However, there is the overuse of the word Penis, which for some reason I find funny. I don't know why, I guess am just being childish LOL! I'm okay with cock but penis is a different story.

I inched the slightest bit toward him, and our penises touched. Through underwear and pajamas, but still, there they were-two hard c*cks connecting, reaching out to eachother in the dark.

The thing that grabbed me from the start was Alex's inner dialogue!! He was witty, random, but most of all he was just 100% himself! It was quite refreshing. Most of what came out of his mouth was just plain humourous. I loved it! I couldn't stop laughing! He was really sweet and adorable as well. He wants to lose his virginity but doesn't want it to be with just anyone. He wants there to be romance during his first time. The person he ends up choosing is Taylor Grayson. Taylor was a cold, arrogant actor. I didn't like him nor did I understand him. I kept wondering what Alex could see in him. He was just a jackass most of the time.

"This is for you, Alex. If you want it." I look around the room again. Just what is for me? The weird swing? The bed without sheets? The riding crop?
"Do you know what BDSM is?" he asks. I don't. Truth be told, it sounds like a brand of jeans they would sell at H&M.

The story in my opinion was not very well developed. This is because I had trouble figuring out how Alex fell in love with Taylor. It seemed to just happen yet I never really saw it unfold. It was the same thing with Taylor. He just all of a sudden seemed to be in love with Alex but never really gave any prior indication of it. I guess I just felt like everything was moving a little to fast and with little explanation. The BDSM sex scenes in this book, were really hot, though!! So those parts were very enjoyable to read.

'There's something about you, Alex. Something I can't quite put my finger on... I know I've said this before but you're really special."
I've now melted, literally melted into a puddle that happens to still look like me sitting in a chair at a kitchen island, but do not be fooled -- I am melted!'

The ending I liked, although, it was kind of cheesy but it was okay. I just didn't feel it was the complete HEA that I was hoping for. I wanted to know if they would actually have the relationship Alex wanted and if it would work out. Overall it was an enjoyable fluffy and funny read!! Nothing fantastic but not terrible either. If you want a light book for entertainment purposes with no angst, than this would be a good choice.
The Education of Caroline (The Education of..., #2) - Jane Harvey-Berrick 5 Beautiful Stars!!!

"Caro... I don't understand, why do you love me?"
"Just because... because the sky is blue and the sea is green."

image

“It’s been ten years, Caro,” he said, seriously. “I’ve waited long enough.”

It has been ten years, since that day where their lives were shattered. Where they were forced to be apart. Caroline is now a military journalist, writing under the name Lee Venzi, and living the life she had always planned with Sebastian, just ten years earlier. The only thing missing... is Sebastian. Sebastian is now a Chief of the US Marines, a well-known womanizer and a heavy drinker. He is hard, bitter, and doesn't remotely resemble that youth that was full of life, he once was.

"Did you mean it, Caro? Did you mean it when you said you loved me?"

"Yes, tesoro, I did. I loved you very much. But you're not the person I knew ten years ago. The Sebastian I knew was sweet and gentle and loving,... but your anger scares me... I can see that you think I let you down badly, but I can't fix it either - I can't change the past."

After that terrible cliffhanger, I had to dive quickly into this one. I couldn't believe so much time had passed. I wanted to know why they never contacted each other, when they had agreed to meet again in three years. Caroline is hired to write about those US soldiers, who fight for their country in Afghanistan. She is sent to Geneva, Switzerland first, where she will learn the basics to self preservation. To her shock, one of the instructors is none other than Sebastian Hunter, who is the language expert.

"Why didn't you come back?" he sobbed. "I waited and waited for you, like I said I would, but you never came back! Why? Why didn't you come back? I love you, I love you, I love you."

After a not so happy reunion, Caroline just wants to get away from Sebastian, but has trouble getting her papers to go to Afghanistan. Sebastian doesn't want her to go, so he prevents her papers from going through too quickly by pulling a few strings. Instead of just staying in Geneva, he suggest they go on the Italian adventure that they talked about doing all those years ago. Caroline may want to resist him, but finds she can't, so she agrees to go with him.

image

"I really fucking hate this, Caro. We're always running in different directions, we're always running out of time. I just want to wake up with you in my arms every day."

Unfortunately, not everything goes smoothly as expected, and soon Caroline learns that Sebastian is feeling resentful towards her because he thinks she never loved him enough to look for him. It takes a while, but they finally work together and accept that they love each other and can't stay away. Suddenly, they find they don't have much time, because Sebastian is being sent to Afghanistan. The separation is short lived, and Caroline ends up embedded with Sebastian's team. But they must keep their relationship a secret, or their careers will be damaged.

"I haven't changed how I feel. I still love you - I've always loved you. It's only ever been you."

David makes an appearance and I was surprised with him in this book. He was very kind and without a semblance to the man I had seen and thought he was. I had hated him in the first book. But I have to say, he was a bigger man than I had initally thought of him. He apologized and owned up to all the wrongs he had done to Caroline. I can tell he still very much loves and cares for her, and that all he did, was stemmed from his insecurities. He couldn't bear losing her, so he made sure she was dependant on him so she would never leave. Little did he know he was pushing her away. I know that everything he did was completely wrong, but I ended up forgiving him.

image

"I love you, Sebastian, please don't push me away. I love you."

"Oh God, Caro. I just don't know what I'm doing any more; I'm so fucked up - I feel like I can't fucking breathe. Don't give up on me, Caro. Please don't give up on me. I need you, baby. I love you so much. I'm so sorry."

The events after Afghanistan, were utter painful for me. No matter what I did, the tears would not stop. As I was reading how much Sebastian was struggling, now that he was back in the US, it totally broke my heart. I was feeling every bit of pain and frustration that Caroline was feeling. I couldn't stand my emotions. I didn't know if he would ever heal or if their relationship could take that kind of a strain. I am so GLAD that Caro never gave up on him. She proved to me how strong of a woman she has become. Especially, after being so mistreated by Sebastian, when it was reminiscent to her life with her ex-husband.

'Despite the difficulties we had been through, despite the difficulties we had yet to face, I had never been happier in my whole life, full of hope gazing through tears at the man I loved. We were beginning again, or, perhaps, adding a new chapter to our story.'

The ending was beautiful, and just, so them. I loved it! As well as the whole story. It was a long journey, but I enjoyed every moment of it. I Highly recommend this wonderfully written book.
