Brooke Dumas goes to an underground fight with her best friend Melanie, who cannot stop talking about how hot Remington "Riptide" Tate is. Remington is wildly popular and a favorite of the crowd for being an unbeatable fighter. When he finally comes out onto the ring she can't help but agree with her best friend. One look is all it took to feel a rush of emotions for him, mostly arousal, and she doesn't really like that she is feeling it. The connection is too intense so she leaves, but Remington is not ready to for her to leave. He wants to get to know her and claim her.

Brooke is a recent graduate and looking for work as a sports PT. When Remington asks her to see her in his hotel room, she wasn't expecting to be offered a job by him. It's a great opportunity so she accepts the job even if she is tremendously attracted to him. She wants him bad.

"...I have never been more aware of my body and all its inner and outer parts than when I interact with this one man. I just don't even know if I can ever get used to it. Can ever make him stop doing this to me. Can ever let myself 'own' the fact that --yes, this man drives my body out of control."

The first part of the book had me feeling all kinds of hot!! Brooke wasn't the only one having her hormones in a frenzy for Remington. I could seriously Not handle the sexual frustration in this book. I felt like I would Die! I liked Brooke in the beginning but later she started to annoy me a tad. There was too much dialogue of her adoration for Remington, how hot he was, how his masculinity was godly, and that he was crazy ripped with muscles, etc. I kind of felt like 'Yeah, I get it already. HE'S FREAKING HOT!' I also thought some of the things she compared things to were a bit... odd. I did like that she never gave up. She was once aspiring to be in the Olympics when an injury caused her to never be able to compete. So I did like that about her. She was strong, independent, and very driven.

Remington Tate, well what is there to say that wasn't already said by Brooke in the book. HE WAS A SEXY BEAST! He had me turned on and I was only a few pages in! He was a total Alpha, cocky, passionate, and tortured. He was the best fighter there was. But he has trouble with expressing himself and showing exactly what he is feeling. He also has crazy mood swings which caused him to be kicked out of the pro league.

"You'll leave me the second it gets too steep, and you'll leave me with nothing --when I want you like I've never wanted anything in my life. You're all I think about, dream about. I get high and low and it's all about you now, it's not even about me anymore. I can't sleep, can't think, can't concentrate worth sh*t anymore and it's all because I want to be the fucking 'one' for you and as soon as you realize what I am, all I'll be is a f*cking mistake!"

I thought he was über yummy but I wanted to know more about him. It took over half the book to finally to get to know his story. It was a sad one and I really felt for him. I loved that he had Riley and Pete to take care of him. Their methods may not have always been the best in my eyes, but they loved him like a brother and were just trying to protect him. I really loved the scenes where they exchanged songs, I thought it was super sweet and had me melting! I wanted to hug him so bad with how tender he could be.

Overall, I felt like the first part of the book was good, but dragged on a bit too much. Like I said, the sexual tension was really scorching hot! The second part I enjoyed the most, even if some parts were a bit predictable. The epilogue was in Remington's POV and it just left me wanting more of him. I am definitely going to check out the next installment. Can't wait!
