"Hey, Irish?"
Nick turned to him, the beginnings of a smile on his face.
"Will you kiss me?"

"See, every time I think about you now, I get these butterflies," Kelly explained, fluttering his fingers at his chest. "And it's weird because it's you, and you're you. But I like it too. And...I like that it's you. So I'm not sure what to do with that.

●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●

Shock & Awe is a novella about Kelly Abott and Nick O'Flaherty. Many of you already know who they are because of the many appearances they make in the Cut & Run Series. After reading the snippet on this, I couldn't wait to read it all. I was not disappointed in the least. This starts off where the Touch & Geaux left off. Kelly is recovering from his injury and Nick is taking care of him. Kelly is on some painkillers because of his gunshot wound and they start to wonder if it's doing some weird things to him. He is curious about Ty and Zane's relationship. He wants that with someone and realizes that he is may already have that with Nick. But he wants to explore all aspects of it. So, he thought it was just painkiller goggles. But then he realized what he felt was real.

Nick O'Flaherty

●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●

"What about that guy? What was his name? The fireman?"

Nick cleared his throat and loosened his hold on Kelly's shoulders. "Aidan. Like I said, that's been pretty casual. And...if there's something here with you?" He looked up and into Kelly's eyes. "How could I pass that up?"

●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●

Nick, who I didn't really like in the past, totally made my panties combust. He was one sexy HOT man. I was not expecting him to be that way, but he totally was. The sex scenes were super steamy. I loved the connection Nick and Kelly had. They definitely share something special between them like Ty and Zane share. I loved them together. They didn't surpass my love for Ty and Zane, but that's not to say I didn't love Nick and Kelly. I really am surprised to say that I did love them. Especially Nick, since I didn't like him much before. When it was over, I was left wanting more of them. Then I thanked the heavens Abigail had the forethought of adding another short into the mix, Bait & Switch. It was AMAZING! It gave me exactly what I was wanting to read. I am so excited to read the next book of the Cut & Run series. I REALLY enjoyed it. I would rate this 4.5, but since there was a bonus short added to it. I gave it a 5. It was just deliciously awesome and loved that crap out of it.

Review: Truce: The Historic Neighbor From Hell By R.L. Mathewson

Truce (Neighbor from Hell #4) - R.L. Mathewson

♥♥♥ 4.5 Wonderful Bradford Historical Stars ♥♥♥

●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●

'This was bad. This was very bad(...) His body yearned for her in every possible way. He enjoyed her quick wit and sharp tongue. She could be funny and he knew that she was kind. This was beyond horrible. He hated the woman. She was his enemy.

His enemy.'

●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●

Jason Bradford is celebrating his fifth wedding anniversary with his wife Haley. In order to do that, he must make her a necklace that has become a Bradford tradition. Jason's father tells the tale of how it all began.

● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ●

'He couldn't stand this. The one woman in the world that he shouldn't want was the one woman he was discovering that he couldn't live without. She was becoming an obsession for him and he was powerless to do anything about it.'

● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ●

Elizabeth and Robert Bradford have disliked each other since they were kids. They use to tease and prank each other constantly. Things went too far and haven't seen or talked to each other for around fifteen years. Now Elizabeth is woman how is forced to attend balls in order to find herself a husband with a title. She doesn't want to get into a loveless marriage that is purely convenience. She wants her independence and to help those in need, not to be someone's property.

●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●

'He never allowed anyone to get close to him, didn't trust anyone. He couldn't understand how she consumed his every wish and desire. He wanted to hold her all night and keep her safe from harm, something that he'd never wanted to do with another woman.'

●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●

While attending a ball, Elizabeth and Robert finally meet again. They both escape the party and find each other in secluded place. They tell each other what they desire in life and share an intimate moment that will changes theirs lives completely. All the while, not knowing the others true identity. When they find out who they really are, they are stunned. All that hate resurfaces, and they vow that the passionate moment that they had shared will never happen again. But Robert soon finds he must stay at Elizabeth's family home. He can't escape her.

●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●

"When was I near death?" he asked in stunned disbelief..."How could you forget all those times that I could barely move? When I struggled to find the will to live(...) Did my struggle for survival mean nothing to you?" he demanded.

"Do you mean those few times when you had a touch of seasickness?" she asked.

"A
touch?" he repeated in disbelief. "I nearly died!"

"Because you were forced to miss breakfast a few times?"

"It was hell! Pure hell!"

●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●

Robert Bradford is just as hilarious as his great, great, great, great...etc. grandsons. We finally find out where they all get their outrageous appetites come from. As well as their alpha like ways. He has come along way since his, 'Robert Lemonade' days. But he still loves teasing Elizabeth. He can't help it, he enjoys seeing her riled up. I couldn't stop laughing at how Robert would exaggerate things, or how childish he was. Sound familiar? Yeah, and he eats crazy amounts of food. I was glued to this book just waiting to read the stuff that they would do to each other and their awesome banter that was highly entertaining.

●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●

'She was so damn beautiful, so kind and sweet. She made him so damn happy. He couldn't imagine going a single day without seeing her, holding her, kissing her or showing her just how much he loved her.'

●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●

Robert's oldest brother James is looking for a new wife and he has his sights on Elizabeth. Elizabeth use to have a huge crush on James when she was a child, but now she doesn't feel the same way for him. Robert will try to do whatever he can to keep them apart. Again, I laughed at the stunts Robert would pull. I also LOVED that we got his POV because it just made it that much better. I liked the romance and chemistry between Robert and Elizabeth. I couldn't get enough of them together. They finally call a truce and try to get along with each other. There were some very sweet moments and some great steamy moments as well. Elizabeth truly was a minx. The things she did to Robert, and he wasn't complaining.

●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●

"I love you, Robert," Elizabeth whispered as she pulled herself up just enough so that she could brush her trembling lips against his.

"I love you more, minx," he said against her lips.

"Probably," she easily agreed as she wrapped her arms around his neck and moved to deepen their kiss.

●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●

I have read and enjoyed many historical romance books in the past. This one was just as great. It was wonderfully written. I became addicted to the story and the characters. I didn't want to put this down. It had the humour from the other books that I thoroughly enjoyed. The ending was super sweet and had me smiling really big. I sighed and laughed reading this book. It was an awesome short light read. I recommend this one to everyone, don't let the historical aspect of this book dissuade you from reading it. It was really great, so, if this genre isn't your thing I think you should just give it a try.

Review: Until November By Aurora Rose Reynolds

Until November (Until series) - Aurora Rose Reynolds

♥♥♥ 4 Smokin' Hot Alpha Stars ♥♥♥

●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●

'From the time I was young, my father and grandfather told me and my brothers that we were cursed. They said that we would only find one love. When we met the woman who was ours, it would be like an explosion. Nothing else would matter but her.'

●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●

●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●

“If you left me, I would never be able to find another you. Someone who fills my life with the beauty only you give me.”

●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●

November is moving to Tennessee to stay with her father. That is because she had just been attacked in New York, where she formerly lived with her terrible and mean mother. She's looking to start new at her twenty-five years of age with the dog that saved her life. For the first time in her life, she feels loved and wanted by the family she had never met. Her dad is an amazing and caring man. Nothing like the mother that spent her whole life puting her down. Her father employs November to work on the books of the business he is co-owner of, a strip club. This is were she meets the sinfully sexy and big jerk, Asher Mayson.

November had a rough childhood. She grew up believing no one wanted her, including her dad, only to discover the contrary. Her mother was keeping her away from him and was always making sure November felt bad about herself. It was horrible. The woman is a total bitch. I'm so glad November is the opposite. She is kind and considering what she went through, quite secure and high spirited. I really liked her. She didn't let people walk all over her, which was entertaining to see when she wasn't fawning over Asher like every woman in town. But she definitely was attracted to him, and I don't blame her one bit. Asher was freaking hot and persistent. I was in an Asher fog right along with her.

●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●

“It's amazing", he whispered, "to know that my purpose in life is sitting in front of me.”

●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●

Asher is the oldest of the Mayson brothers and just as much a player as they all seem to be. This is probably because they are all REALLY hot looking guys. Asher sees November for the first time at her father's club while checking out the security, and he automatically assumes things about her that are wrong. After behaving like a total ass towards her, he realizes his error and just walks away. The thing is, he really is interested in her. He isn't going to give up until November is his.

Asher is a total Alpha. I am talking about him being a freaking caveman. I would be lying if I said I didn't love it. He made my panties incinerate. Asher is quite successful in what he does. He is possessive, tenacious, domineering, and very protective. I freaking LOVED him. He did at times become a little too much I will admit, but then he would work that charm of his and I was instantly in the Asher fog. I really didn't want to get out of it. He knows that November is the one and is determined to make her see it. He could also be really sweet at times and had me swooning hard. Oh, and I forgot to mention, he had a dirty mouth which was really HOT!

●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●

"Your're mine. Every inch of you belongs to me. From your sweet mouth to your even sweeter pussy and when I want it, you better give it to me."

●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●

The chemistry between these two characters is undeniable and scorching. They fell in love quite fast, well, at least on Asher's side. November resisted a bit with her heart due to the experience she had with her ex-fiancé. Yes, it was a bit too fast for me, but for some reason, I felt like it worked for them. The pace could have gone a lot quicker, so I'm glad it went on at a steady pace, or I wouldn't have liked it. Not that I have ever had an issue with insta-love. But there have been a few cases where it has bothered me. Here, I actually liked it. Their relationship was an entertaining one to read. As well as the relationships they had with their family members. I really liked all the characters.

●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●

"Happy is not the word I would use to describe how I feel, baby."

"I know," I whisper. "This is bliss."

"Yeah," he says, walking towards me. "This is bliss." His hands frame my face and he softly kisses my nose then my lips.

●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●

The whole book was really great, but it was not perfect. There were a few things that I didn't like about it. One major one being, that I would have liked there to have been some indication that time had passed. You start reading that they are in one place and then suddenly they are at another location and you didn't even know how they got there. I thought I was miss read, but then realized that the book is just like that. That was the only major thing, otherwise I loved both main characters a LOT! The ending was really awesomely sweet. The epilogue had me smiling and laughing at Asher's predicament. But it was really great. I really enjoyed it. And I am so looking forward to all the future books in this series. I can't freaking wait for Trevor's book. I recommend this book to people who love Alpha males.

”I’m not a fool. I like him. And I like the sex. And I pay him for his services. I’m not pretending it’s anything romantic. That’s just not how we are together. It’s professional.”

●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●

Lori Addison is a successful romance author and also still a virgin at twenty-six years old. She writes about passionate steamy sex scenes but she has yet to experience the act. She is done with it. She wants to get rid of her V card and so she looks to hire an escort. She is referred to Ander, who is apparently really good at what he does. After the arrangement is made, she realizes that she doesn't want a fantasy. If she is going to be with Ander, she wants it to be real and not romanticized. But soon Lori finds that she wants more of the pleasure and company he provides. So, Lori schedules another engagement, and another, and another. Each time they spend more time together, she learns a little more about him. But not much, because he is a really private man. She isn't a fool, she knows nothing more can ever happen between them, he made that clear from the start. That doesn't stop her feelings from blossoming for him. Things start to change between them and Lori isn't sure if she is the only one affected by this or if he feels the same way. But she is afraid to find out and possibly lose him.

'Lori Addison. Six months ago she'd been a virgin, and now she was crazy about her gigolo.'

●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●

When I first started the book, I wasn't sure what to expect. Lori was a virgin but she wasn't the typical naïve virgin with absolutely no clue. Being a romance author, she knows what sex involves but writing about it in books is one thing. The perfect steamy sex scnes from books aren't exactly how things happen in real life. So she doesn't really know how to go about it or how to please a man. The sex between them was very instructional at first, which is what you'd expect, there was no feeling to it, just two people having sex. But for some reason, it was little odd to read, maybe because I am so use to reading books that are off the bat super passionate. This book has a realistic element that took a while for me to get into. By the time I finished, I appreciated it. I loved the pace in which everything went. There was no insta-love here, but a gradual development of love. It was really sweet to read. I liked Lori for the most part, but she did often speak without thinking first and seemed to offend Ander in one way or another. She was really nosy as well, and would try to pry into Ander's life so she could get to know him better. Ander may not have liked it, but it resulted in a friendship to form between them. They seemed eager to see each other again, and really happy when the day of their engagement had finally arrived. The sex slowly started to be less about learning and more about discovering a passion between them.

●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●

"I knew I felt for you in a way I'd never felt for anyone before. Sex had never meant anything to me--except for business--before you. I've never had sex with any feeling. Never had sex without a condom before today. Not once in all my life. And you were awakening emotions I'd never experienced. I wanted to be with you, please you, protect you, take care of you. I don't know if it was love back then, but I didn't know what else to call it."

●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●

Ander was a professional escort that knew how to play the part well. He was elegant, charming, and sexual. But he was also very patient and respectful of his clients. He knows how to please them. I really liked Ander from the very beginning, he never made Lori feel odd or awkward for still being a virgin. He made her feel sexy and comfortable. I loved that about him, but like Lori, I found myself wondering if it was all part of his escort act. I was curious about him and who he really was. From the few things we get, you realize he actually doesn't think he is worth much. Just an object to please women. It was a little difficult to under Ander at times and I desperately wanted his POV, which we didn't get in this book. I really would have loved it. Soon, you start to see him change and realize that he might be feeling something for Lori as well, more than just a friendship. He did little things that gave you clues about his feelings but Lori never saw or was to scared to acknowledge them. Meanwhile, I had a strong feeling that that was the case. Ander was an interesting character that I wanted to know more of.

●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●

He'd never looked at her like this when they'd had sex before.

It wasn't just hot, hungry, or needy. It was tender and possessive both. Like she was everything to him--everything he'd ever wanted.

●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●

Like I previously said, the first sex scenes was about Lori learning how her body and to please it. Even though it the sex instructional at first, it didn't make it any less hot. It was actually really was. Ander was brilliant in helping Lori's sensuality come out. He was absolutely skilled. The things he did to arouse her were super hot. Ander had me under his spell and panting for him. I loved learning more about him, because then he made me swoon. There was so much more to him than just being an escort. He was hurt from his past that had to do with his father. I really wished there was more said about that relationship, but we only got what seemed like a few glimpses. I wanted more about Ander and his life. I just plainly wanted to know him completely. I like Lori and Ander together. They really worked and it was very much enjoyable to read. The sex between them became really sweet , steamy and just beautiful. I really loved it.

●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●

"So beautiful. So sweet. I always want you so much."

●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●

The book was really well written but there were still a few things I felt that it needed. Overall, it was a really good romantic read. It was definitely interesting and of course über smoking hot. I liked that these characters were mature, so we didn't need to deal with anyone getting too whiney about things. I loved the slow and steady way in which the relationship developed. It made it a whole lot believable that way. The ending was really sweet and I was happy things worked out for them. I wasn't sure how I would feel about this book after I was a few chapters in, but I am glad to say that I thoroughly enjoyed it. I recommend this read to anyone who wants a good romantic escort story.

"Not ashamed of you, Lily."

He stops speaking for a moment, allowing that to sink in.

●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●

Delilah 'Lily' Flynn is a twenty-two years old woman, who lives with her parents and sister. Her parents, especially her father, have kept her very overprotected from her surroundings and people for fear that something bad will happen to her, due to their wealth. Because of that, Lily works for her father where she can be watched carefully. In order for her life not to be dull, she has found her heaven in reading books and living vicariously through them. She absolutely LOVES reading, and I can totally relate. Nothing much ever happens in her life, until one day that changes. There have been some threats made and in a blink of an eye, she finds herself carted off blindfolded. She has been 'kidnapped' by Nox Taylor.

●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●

"I trust you, Nox. You won't hurt me. I know it." I whisper, "I trust you."

●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●

Lily was such a freaking hoot! I LOVED her! Her hilarious inner ramblings had me chuckling a lot. She was just herself and didn't pretend to be anyone else, which I loved. She had a fiesty temper and was fully of witty, snarky comments. Seriously, it was hard not to like her. I have never laughed so much from someone getting 'kidnapped'. Which, she later finds out was not the case. She was being rescued by Nox, Rock, and Boo. Three badass characters who I loved so much, as well. There were a few parts that dragged on a little bit, but for the most part, this book was really entertaining. I couldn't wait for Lily and Nox to start having their arguments. They disliked each other in the beginning, but underneath that dislike there was very much a like in there as well. As time went on, having to spend their days in close quarters, their attraction grew until they had find out if what they felt was real.

●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●

"He's like a fairy-tale hero for Christ's sake... He's all like 'C'mon, pack your shit' and I'm all like 'No, I like it here' and he's all 'Not safe here, princess' and I'm all like 'Sigh. Okay.'

●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●

Oh Nox... When I started this book, Nox kinda freaked me out a bit. He was mean in the way he protected her. But that's because he took her safety seriously. He didn't like playing games and was clear in what he expected of her. But Lily, was rebellious. The interactions between these two characters had me laughing, swooning, and melting. I really thought Nox was a jerk, but soon my view of him changed. With the months passing by, he came to feel for Lily. More than just a hired protector taking care of his protectee. He is drawn to her strong personality and actually loves that about her, despite their arguments. I loved seeing them slowly let their guard down.

●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●

"I don't feel lonely when I'm with you."

●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●

In the second half of the book, I completely LOVED Nox. He was just so freaking swoony at times. He made my heart and panties melt. I freaking LOVED his dirty alpha mouth. It. Was. The. Best. He also had a sweet sensitive side that I loved just as much. And then he had such awesome team members, Rock and Boo. These two were so great and became amazing friends to Lily, which she hasn't had in a really long time. Rock and Boo were a badass couple. I was so glad that Nox had a guy friend in Rock to talk to. And Lily had Boo. Boo was such an awesome chick or like Rock says about her 'Badass with a hint of lady.' I loved her. They were really supportive of Nox and Lily when it became obvious that they had feelings for one another. Any moment with Nox and Lily, thereafter, made me sigh. I loved them both separately and together they were even better. They brought out all the good in each other.

"Don't wanna let you go."

My heart swells. I whisper back,"Then don't."

●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●

This book was really awesome. It had some sexy steamy moments, funny laugh out loud moments, and even sad moments. All of it was good. I loved every single character in this book. Like I said, the only thing was that there were a few times where it felt like it dragged on a little bit. It was still very good, though. The ending had me tearing up, even though I had a feeling that is what would end up happening. I still enjoyed it. It was really sweet romantic comedy. I thoroughly enjoyed this and would recommend you to give this a read. It was just really good. And I'm kind of hoping Rock and Boo will get their own book, cuz I loved them to pieces as well. We'll see if that happens. *fingers crossed*

I was so happy to finally get to read this one. I absolutely loved the first book of the series and this one was just as awesome. It begins right where the last book left off. Logan has just been resurrected, thanks to Calla's Alexi blood. The Alexi have scattered around the city and their numbers are dwindling. There also seems to be a species they all thought was extinct that has come back and is wreaking havoc.

It was a bit hard for me to get into for me. Not because it was boring, because it wasn't at all, but because I had forgotten a few things about this world. Once I started picking up on things and being reintroduced to it all, I was able to get back into the flow and loved every moment of it. So, I would recommend you to read the previous book before starting this one.

I remember from the first book that there seemed to be something between Logan and Calla, a mutual attraction. In this book, Logan resents Calla for everything that happens to him. He was stabbed saving her, which caused his death in the first place, and now he is temporarily paralyzed after coming back to life. He tells himself over and over that he hates her. He is mean and that pissed me off so much. He was a real jerk and she just let him treat like that. I almost hated Logan, but once you understand why he is the way he is, it just all made sense. He has been living numb and is still tortured by his past, which was just horrible. But Calla seems to be the only one to make him FEEL, something he hasn't done in a long time. No matter how much he denied, he knew he felt something for Calla and just wanted to keep her safe. Maybe even make her his. Then I couldn't help but love Logan. He was such a lovable jackass, an alpha, and very protective. He had a lot of things to overcome and I'm glad that Calla was able to help him with that a bit. I was so saddened by his upbringing. It really broke my heart. I was so digusted by the woman that called herself his mother. I am so happy that Logan turned out to be better than I initially thought. He was just wonderful and smoking HOT!! And so perfect for Calla. Loved him.

Calla was one of Wade's Alexi. We already know that she had to go through some tough stuff because of Wade. And now that he is dead, she is free. But She seeks revenge on the person responisble for her brother's death. I LOVED Calla. She seemed shy and meek on the surface but she had a silent strength that I really enjoyed. And she was totally badass during the fighting scenes. I loved how she never gave up. I also loved the lengths she would go to protect those she cares about. In this book we get a little more insight about her past, the one she was forced to forget. I felt for her and the happy life she once had, before becoming an Alexi. And then her life in the hands of Wade was terrible. He was a sick bastard. She felt ashamed about that time in her life. She never felt truly desired by anyone, just embarrassment and humiliated. Logan changes that for her. She has hope that he actually cares about her and is stirring feelings in her that she didn't think she would ever feel. He finds out what honest affection is like as well as passion. There were few times where Calla would make dumb decisions and it would frustrate me, but she was such an awesome character. I hope these great female characters become a trend in the series.

Whenever Logan and Calla would be alone in a room together things would spark like crazy. They. Were. Intense. I loved every moment of it. The steam is definitely higher for me in this book than the last. Logan was super sexy and amazing. The things he would do and say, had me blissfully happy and panting. I couldn't put this down.

The other brothers I still very much love. Zeke is my favourite, for sure. He is the dirty mouthed man-whore with a kind and charming personality. He has me under his spell. I was so upset by what happened to him in this book. I can't wait to read his book and Gavin's. I am still very much curious about them all. So, I can't wait. Things picked up near the end, I was glued to the book to find out what would happen. I liked the action scenes, just as much as I did the first, they were so cool. The description was perfectly written so you can really visualize everything that is going on. This book has no cliffhanger, for which I was so happy with. The ending was so awesome... and sweet... and romantic... and just great. I was smiling so big. Loved the hea Logan and Calla had, they deserved it. The epilogue left me wanting more of this series. I am guessing Calix is next and I can't wait to read that. I am loving the series so far and hope it continues that way with the future book. Loved it! I recommend this to all you paranormal romance lovers out there.

I am in LOVE with this book! It is definitely one of my top favourite books ever. It's been a long while since I've read a book that inspired me and brought so much feelings out of me. It was incredible. Very emotional for sure but so very amazing. A modern take on Beauty and the Beast that I completely loved. So get those tissues ready before diving into this one, because it won't let you go once you start.

●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●

“Ambrose Young! I have waited my whole life for you to want me. If you don’t hold me tight I won’t believe you mean it, and that’s worse than never being held at all. You’d better make me believe you mean it, Ambrose, or you will most definitely break me.”

“I don’t want to hurt you, Fern” he whispered hoarsely.

“Then don’t,” she whispered back, trusting him.

●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●

●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●

‘Could you belong to someone who didn’t want you? Fern decided it was possible because her heart was his, and whether or not he wanted it didn’t seem to make much difference.’

●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●

Fern is a redheaded girl with lots of freckles who loves to read, and even write romance novels. She has been in love with Ambrose Young since she was a little girl and he helped her bury a spider. But of course, Ambrose doesn't notice her. She isn't exactly beautiful. Still, her infatuation with him never faded throughout the years, it only got stronger. I was so glad she had someone to confide in and who supported her. That was her two best friends Bailey (who was also her cousin)and Rita (one of the most beautiful girls in school). Rita develops a crush on Ambrose and wants to write him a note to tell him how she feels. So she asks Fern for her help, which Fern does. This is how she gets to know him better, through their letter exchanges. I loved their either/or questions and seeing how different they viewed things and yet how similar they were. Fern was selfless, strong and had an almost childlike innocence at times. She was a charcter that I think anyone can identify with, everyone goes through some insecurties during some point in their lives. So, I loved that I could really connect with Fern and all the other characters in this book.

●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●

"I think that's the worst part. The thought that no one will remember me when I'm gone. Sure, my parents will. Fern will. But how does someone like me live on? When it's all said and done, did I matter?"

●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●

Bailey is Fern's cousin and best friend who has duchenne muscular dystrophy. As the years have gone by his disease has led him to be wheelchair bound. His lifespan is very short because of it. He lives with that knowledge and uses any opportunity to live life to the fullest with no regrets. Fern and Bailey can be brutally honest to one another but so supportive and caring as well. I loved every aspect of their relationship. It was really endearing seeing them interact and just acting like a bunch of goofs together. I loved Bailey's attitude, funny comments and his fighting spirit. I loved him to pieces. All he wanted was to wrestle, be a hero, and have the love of his other very beautiful best friend, Rita. I couldn't believe that despite it all he remained a positive person. He didn't let it make him bitter. He knew he would never have a 'normal' life like the others or share the same experiences. But, that only made him determined to 'live'. It hurt so much to see all he went through. Especially when he got bullied by Becker (Rita's husband). That seriously pissed me off. Bailey didn't deserve that, I cried for the injustice made to him. I just wanted him to be happy.

●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●

"Ambrose knew what it felt like to be whole, to be perfect, to be Hercules. How cruel to suddenly fall from such heights. Life had given Ambrose another face and Fern wondered if he would ever be able to accept it."

●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●

Ambrose pretty much has it all, except for his parents being together. He is handsome, tall, and strong. He loves wrestling and is great at it. When he dates Rita, he even had the beautiful girl on his arm. He soon realizes that the girl in the letters and the girl in person are not the same. Rita tells him the truth and he is stunned that it had been Fern all along. They move on from that and soon he starts to feel the pressure to remain the golden boy or the 'Hercules' (a nickname Bailey gave him) of the community. Then after 9/11 happens and affects him deeply, he decides to enlist in the military. His best friends Grant, Bean, Paulie, and Jesse can't believe it, especially when his future is set. But he convinces them to all follow him anyways, and so they all go to Iraq. Ambrose returns without his friends and with the entire right side of his face disfigured. He wallows in self-pity and guilt. He starts working night shifts at his father's bakery. Fern sees him and starts to leave him messages like the ones from highschool. She hopes to help him accept how he looks like and that it doesn't change who he is inside. Ambrose was another character I enjoyed seein grow. He had a lot to figure out that I totally understood. He was sweet, patient, and loyal, but he was never perfect, and that's okay. I loved him for it.

I loved that each character played a role in some way. I felt bad for the life that Rita ended up having with Becker. She may not have been bright but she was a very good person. I even loved Ambrose's four best buds. Each was unique and had their own level of annoying at times, but they really were great friends. It was great to see how all the characters grew up. Fern still felt ugly but that didn't stop her from living a happy life. Or from trying to get Ambrose to really see her. Ambrose now feels like a monster and doesn't think himself deserving of someone like Fern.

●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●

There were so many inspiring moments in this book. It really had me thinking. A ton of life lessons about what true beauty is, how to accept yourself and others, how to stay strong when you suffer a loss, how to be a TRUE friend, and to live life to the fullest. The writing was superb and had me captivated from the start. I cried "swollen-red-eyes-runny-nose-drenched-cheeks" tears. I hurt deeply, my heart broke, but there was also some comedy relief from all of the heaviness. So I also laughed and smiled big. Reading this book had me feeling like I was going through their experiences, it was written so well. I FELT everything. It's a story that I won't be forgetting anytime soon. I loved these characters so freaking much and was sad when I had to close the book. I didn't want it to end. It was just so freaking perfect. I definitely HIGHLY recommend you read this book. It is just SO good that my review can't do it justice. It will affect you tremendously like it did me, and I am so happy to have gotten to know these characters. It's on my top favourites list, for sure. GO READ IT NOW!! You won't be disappointed.

Alexa Sullivan and Jace McAllister are the bestest of friends. There wasn't a moment they weren't together in their high school years. They have experienced a lot of good times together. But, Alexa feels more for him than just friendship. The problem is that she is afraid that he may not feel the same. So in order to not lose him, she keeps quiet. Jace has had feelings for Alexa since the moment they met. Whenever he wanted to tell her how he felt, the moment would be disrupted by someone or it just didn't feel like the right time. On the night of her sister's and Jace's graduation, he knows he has to tell her. He is leaving in the morning for basic training in the military and can't without knowing if she feels the same way. When he does, they both realize how much time was wasted when they both loved each other. Now he has to leave and nothing can happen. After sharing one of the best nights of his life with her, he promises to come back to her. Unfortunately, when he returns, Alexa is gone. She has moved to Ohio where her father was transferred. Crushed, after finding out she may not want him anymore, he returns to the military and tries to move on. But their second chance to be together may be on the horizon.

●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●

"Alexa, I've never forgotten about you. I've never had a connection with any other woman like the one you and I had--that I know we still have. You were it for me. My homerun. My grand slam. My perfect game. I've never, I will never, ever want anyone but you."

●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●

I love stories on second chance at love, and this one does not disappoint. I was saddened by the misunderstanding that kept them apart for such a long time. Then I was so freaking happy when Jace's ten year reunion was happening real soon. Because Alexa would be going to babysit her sister's daughter Ava.

Yup, ten years later is when they finally see each other again. And a lot has changed since then. Alexa had moved on from after realizing that Jace was never coming back for her. She got married to Ty and lived happily with him. He took care of her and loved her a lot. That didn't mean they didn't have their issues. On a discussion of one of their issues, where things that they may have not meant were said, she lost him. They were in a car wreck where he instantly died. She is now a widow and grieving her loss. She also hopes he did love her till the end, especially after the last thing she ever heard him say was 'I fucking hate you sometimes...'

Jace has been sucessful in the military as a bomb diffuser. He's making his way up the ranks. But he still can't get over 'his' girl, Alexa. He has been in a lot of meaningless 'relationships', if you can call them that since they are mostly just sex. He thinks about her constantly but after he finds out that she is married, he tries to move on. His highschool reunion is coming up, and when he realizes that Alexa will be there, he can hardly wait to see her again. Even if that means she is happy with someone else. But soon, it becomes known to him that Alexa has been a widow for almost two years. He doesn't want this chance to be with her again to pass him by.

"It took me a while, but I finally realize that you already had every piece of me. I didn't have to give you my heart. You already own it. You own me."

●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●

I loved every single moment they would interact. It was so awesome to see them fall back together with no awkwardness from years of separation. There were a lot of times I laughed out loud at the funny references and the things they would say. For example, "Blue Clit", the mention of the Will Smith movie, "Hitch". I loved it! I also fell hard for Jace. How could you not? He was super SWOONY!! And really sexy, and just so damn perfect, I wanted him for myself. He was über understanding towards her and the time she needed in order to fully accept being in a relationship with him. But what totally melted my heart, besides him being a romantic, was whenever he interacted with Alexa's niece Ava. That little girl was so freaking adorable, and togther, they made my heart into mush. I'm sighing just thinking about him.

Alexa at times made me a bit frustrated. She didn't want to fully give herself to Jace completely because of the possibitly the he could die from being in the military. She was afraid to hurt again from another loss. I got her completely and her fears but I wanted her to take the chance. Jace promised he would try to get back to her. I know it's a hard promise to keep. Then again, I know I would be hesitant for the same reason too. Those times of separation where he would leave her to go to war was tough for me. I was scared of something happening to him. I don't know how families do this in real life. I'd be a mess all the time.

There were PLENTY of steamy scenes in this book. I'm serious, Jace is one sexy beast. There were a few moments, though, where I felt there was a bit too much sex. I may have wanted more scenes of how they got to know each other and maybe more reminicing of the past. But that doesn't mean I didn't enjoy them. I loved the secondary characters in this book, my favourite being Alexa's best friend Brady. He was such a great supporting and fun gay friend. Loved him. I even enjoyed the meddling members of their families. The epilogue was really beautiful. It had my heart warming with joy and I couldn't help but smile. As I continued to read I started wanting to know more about Knox. That's because we get some insight on his life. I became really intrigued about his past. So now, I can't wait to read his book. A great debut novel. If you are looking for a true romance novel, than look no further. The writing was wonderful and I really enjoyed it. I definitely recommend it. Thanks so much to the author, Tessa Teevan, for allowing read your first book.

I don't know what happened in this book. I read this because I had enjoyed the previous two books. And after, how the last book ended, I HAD to know what happened with Damien and the trial. I started it, excited to see what was to come and then I was left disappointed. Why? Well, because the trial that was held in Germany, began as quickly as it ended. It was actually quite anticlimactic. I was happy for Damien, but what on earth was that? I was waiting for the trial and that was all I got? A little angst would have been good. But unfortunately, I was left wanting more. I also didn't like how cold Damien could be at times. But after I realized why, I understood his behaviour. Still, didn't like it, though.
