"Life is a sum made up of small parts, Kacie. Some are good; some are bad. You and the girls are definitely one of the good. The best good ther is and I'll fight like hell to keep you here."

"If you never give up on love, it will never give up on you."

This review will be pretty brief because there isnt' too much to say about this book. Kacie is a single young mother of twin girls. The father of her daughters left her after it seemed he could no longer take it. Since then, Kacie has been raising them with the help of her mother, who she works for in Cranberry Inn. Kacie is scarred by being abandoned by both her father and boyfriend. Because of that she doesn't date. She just doesn't want to get hurt again.

"...sometimes, even when something terrifies you, if you just give it a chance it’s actually pretty incredible.”

Then suddenly sexy hockey player Brody Murphy comes into the inn and into her life. He can't stop looking at Kacie. She totally fascinates him and they way that she loves her kids. He wants to know all there is to know about her. So, he pursues her relentlessly.
The whole story was pretty much about whether Kacie will accept to be with Brody without holding back. Unfortunately, Kacie continues to hesitate to have a relationship with him. It was something that became a bit of an annoyance to me. Here she had Brody, who proved time and time again that he genuienly cared for her and her daughters, yet she kept trying to break it off. I just didn't get it. Every single person in her life kept telling her to take the risk, but she would always make excuses or let people influence her into not being with Brody.

"Brody, are you sick?" asked Piper.
"Yeah, do you have a fever?" Lucy asked, tugging on my shirt.
I bent down to her level as she felt my forehead. "Nope, not sick. Why?"
They looked at each other and shrugged.
"Mom was on the phone with Auntie Alexa and she said you were hot. If you're hot, you have a fever. Do you need medicine?"

Brody...I really loved. He was so sweet, and funny, and even naughty when he wanted to be. I just loved him so much. I loved seeing things in his perspective and how he saw Kacie and her daughters Lucy and Piper. Seeing him interact with those little girls made my heart melt so bad. It was so adorable. I kind of felt bad how Kacie kept pushing him away when he was trying so hard to prove to her that he wanted something real with her. He was such a great guy and I wanted to see him happy.

“Look in my eyes. Yes, you can. You said you trusted me, now come on. Jump in puddles with me.”

This was a great light, sweet read. It wasn't too angsty, or too sweet, nor did it have too much drama. It didn't really have too much of anything, even the steam wasn't too much. Which is why this is a great in between read or one when you want a break from the very emotional. I did enjoy it, but I didn't love it. The only character I really loved was Brody and Kacie's adorable twins. There was a bit of a cliffhanger which I'm not too sure I liked. But I do want to know what will happen next and since I want more Brody too, I will be reading the second book. Overall, a good read.
