I was in love with him.
Dear God.
I was in love with a gigolo.
It was crazy, insane; I was fully aware of that. But this was Mason. My spider killer. My left over food vacuum. My fellow Harry Potter fan. He was my soul mate. It was easy to look past the gigolo detail when I was with him.

Well, this one turned out to be a pleasant surprise. I loved this book! But most importantly, I LOVED Mason!!

Now known as Reese Randall, this girl is trying to get a new start at life and leave her horrible past behind. She's staying with her cousin in Florida and starting college there. This is where she meets the sinfully beautiful Mason. But there are rumours going around about him. Everyone seems to think he is a gigolo. No matter the warnings Reese gets from her cousin, she can't seem to still want to know him, at a safe distance. But they are forced together when she takes a babysitting job that turns out to be Mason's little sister. She can't quit because she needs the money. Even if she thinks he hates her, she continues the job. Very soon, they become friends, but that quickly turns into something else they both wanted to avoid.

"You're the warm sun that shines when everything else is dark. A smile and a hug in a roomful of disapproval. You're...you're everything."

"I love you too."

"You...No. You shouldn't."

"But I do."

I didn't know what to think of Reese when I first met her. I didn't like how her cousin seemed to be able to influence her. She at first came off as a bit naïve, and judged too quickly. But as I continued reading, I ended up really liking her. Sure, she had her moments where I kind of got pissed off at her. But I liked how she protected those she loved. She could be so brave when she needed too. She was also so caring and loving. She was so great considering how terrible her past was.

"I've always wondered what it felt like to make love."

Mason was amazing!! He drew me into the story from the very beginning. Like Reese, I found myself intruigued by him and so deeply saddened by the way he was treated. I wanted to hug so many times. He was sweet, confident, flirty, and sexy. But he could also be shy at times. I was so freaking upset with how he was manipulated and robbed of his virginity. I hated the sacrifices he had to make so that his family was taken care of. So, I was SO glad he found Reese to support him.

"Every woman treats me that way, Reese. I’m not a person to them. I’m just…a good time or something vile to be avoided at all costs. And then you came along and you… you hugged me."

The first part of the book I was hooked because of Mason. But I quickly became annoyed by Eva's (Reese's cousin) attitude. I couldn't believe how people abused someone for being a male prostitute. I wanted to slap her silly. I don't know how her behaviour was to help Reese. I just didn't get it. I disliked how Mason's clients treated him, as well. Especially that nasty landlady of his. OMG! how I wanted to do bodily harm to that sick woman. No one saw him as a human being with feelings. They just saw him as a piece of meat...a toy they can use whenever they wanted. It was really sickening. The second part of the book was crazy. It was full of angst and just hurt me... A LOT! I couldn't believe the decision they chose to make.

"God, I don't deserve you."

"And yet you have me anyway."

The ending was wonderful and sweet. But I felt like the last quarter was rushed a bit. Like I mentioned before, some of the events that took place were unbelievable. It angered and hurt me. But I was happy with how things concluded for them. The writing was great. I loved their sense of humour and the whole on going Harry Potter thing. It was so adorable with some steam added to the mix. I really fell for Mason, he was a broken character but so wonderful! The epilogue was also cute. The whole ending was a bit rushed but it was really good. Overall, I really did enjoy this book. I hadn't read a book with angst in a while and this one had the perfect amount.
