♪♫ I feel it everyday, it's all the same
It brings me down, but I'm the one to blame
I've tried everything to get away
So here I go again
Chasing you down again
Why do I do this?

It feels like everyday stays the same
It's dragging me down, and I can't pull away
So here I go again
Chasing you down again
Why do I do this?

So many thoughts that I can't get out of my head
I try to live without you
Every time I do, I feel dead
I know what's best for me
But I want you instead
I'll keep on wasting all my time

Over and over, over and over
I fall for you
Over and over, over and over
I try not to ♫♪

I heard great things about this book, and when I read the blurb, I knew I had to read it. I can't believe how good this book was. Once I started, I became so 'addicted' to these two damaged characters. I just couldn't put it down.

"We lied for each other and hid our infidelities, playing the role of doting boyfriend and girlfriend. The deeper we sink, the harder it is to crawl out. I fear the moment when someone discovers our secrets. At any moment, everything can crumble beneath us."

"I'm not one of your conquests," he says in a throaty voice. "I know what you want, and you don't need to take it. I can give it to you."

Lily Calloway comes from a wealthy family. And like most wealthy families, appearances are everything. But she has a secret, one that no one can ever find out... she loves sex. She thinks about sex, she watches videos on sex, and she is having lots of sex. There is only one person that knows this, her childhood friend with a secret of his own, Loren. They need to hide it from their families, so, they pretend to be a couple and that everything is okay. This has been happening for three years, but their addictions have been occurring for a lot longer.

'I want that to be us. I want to grow old and yell at Lo for dribbling coffee. I want him to be
my forever. For the first time, he might be on the right path towards reaching that. I can only hope I'll join him too.'

I was absolutely intrigued by the mind of an addict, especially one of a sex addict. Lily's whole life revolved around her addiction. I have never been in an addicts mind and I think the authors did an amazing job at it. Literally, Lily thought about sex 24/7. At times, I felt so bad for her because of the lengths she would go to get it. And it was most definitely not always safe. Once she realizes what she has done, shame consumes her, but she can't stop. My heart hurt for her, because she thought no one in her family would understand her, or loved her enough to care about her. The only person she has had in her life constantly was Loren.

"In this moment, I'm yours."

Loren Hale also comes from wealth, but he only has his father. A man that expects a LOT of Loren. He wants his son to be the best of all. Loren has been under that pressure his whole life, nothing he ever did was good enough. So, he goes to the bottle to make him feel numb. He drinks all the time. When he has a cup, there is most definitely some type of booze in it. He carries a flask around anywhere he goes. He just can't stop drinking. He helps Lily in order to cover his addiction. She is the only one who knows the truth. But as time goes on where both of them are enabling each other's addiction, a new addiction forms. They are addicted to each other.

"I love you, but I want to love you enough that I
never choose alcohol over you. Not even for a moment. I want to be someone you deserve."

My heart broke for Loren. I depised the way his father would treat him. Loren has pretty much never had a 'childhood' because he was always expected to grow up fast. Even though we didn't get his POV, I really connected with him. I loved how much he cared for Lily. He made my heart melt quite a few times. They were both controlled by their families, but with each other, they could be themselves without judgement. There were times where Lo would be a certain way with Lily and I knew he must feel more for her. Their relationship was supposed to be pretend, but soon the lines blur and they realize that their feelings for each other pass friendship.

'I open my mouth, wanting to express all of my feelings at once.
I love you. I'll wait for you! You're my best friend and my soul mate and my lover. I'm so proud of you. Please... come back to me.'

His lips upturn in a hopeful smile. "I know."

I kept rooting for them to get over their addictions and hopefully they would be able to overcome them together. They were the only people who could truly understand what the other was going through. They both wanted the other to stop, but then that would mean they were hypocrites when they didn't want to stop. There were some seriously emotional scenes in this book that had my heart racing and teary eyed. I was SO happy that they finally admitted their feelings for each other, but it seemed to their addictions worse. I knew things would end up crumbling around them if they continued as they were. And it did. It was so heart wrenching to see them hit their all time low and not know how to resurface. I'm happy that the authors added Connor, Ryke, and Rose into this book. These characters really helped Lily and Loren accept their addictions and want to be better. I'm so proud of how far these two broken characters have come. The ending had me in tears but I was also happy they were taking the first step. I can't wait to read more from this series. This book is one of my favourites, for sure. I'm hoping the next books will be just as amazing as this one, if not more. I definitely recommend you read this, especially if you like damaged characters.
