"I have finally accepted that there are consequences to every action. I earned them and they are rightfully mine. There is no time to make bad decisions. Every step is precious. The definition of living is mine."

Olivia Kaspen... I didn't like her. I get that she became the way she is because of her upbringing. Her father messed her up. And now she is this broken woman who is selfish, prickly, and a bitch. A lot of the stuff that happened to her, I personally felt was karma, I mean she did some pretty nasty things so I wasn't surprised when bad things happened to her. The book would switch from past to present and would reveal a little bit about Olivia and Caleb's relationship during college. Past Olivia I didn't like at all and Present Olivia was just okay. She was trying to change so I was happy about that. I liked her more during the ending and that was thanks to the godsend that is Noah who made her see the light.

"I loved you enough to put aside every one of my feelings to accommodate yours. What did I get in return? Coldness and emotional detachment. You are selfish and bitter and you wouldn't know a good thing if it fell out of the sky at your feet."

Caleb Drake I liked in the beginning. But then it kind of changed for me as the story progressed. I didn't end up loving the guy. I mean he did some hurtful things as well. They were both manipulative in their own ways and were far from perfect. Still, I liked that he was caring and loving and just such a charming cheerful person. Like Olivia said, he was the light to her dark. I liked that about him. I think they both didn't know how to be together, they both didn't completely understand how to handle their feelings for each other, and they both didn't know how to be there for each other. I felt even Caleb by trying to force her instead of letting her grow at her own speed, was pushing her away.

"I will love again, Olivia,
you will hurt forever. What you've done is...you are worthless because you make yourself that way. You will remember me every day for the rest of your life because I was the one and you threw me away." And then he left.

There was some frustrated times, I am talking about alot of times. I just thought it was too much drama. Then Leah, Caleb's girlfriend just added to it and it drove me nuts. I didn't like anthing about her. Biggest bitch ever!! I don't think she deserves Caleb. At. All.

"It's the last real kiss of my life. I forever cling to that kiss. It was goodbye and I'm sorry and I love you so much."

When that ending happened... I was like... What The MotherFing Heck just happened!?!? I wasn't expecting that. I'm talking about the epilogue, by the way. Because the actual ending was bittersweet and I was kinda like... huh... all this drama and trouble for it to go like this?? But it totally made sense to me afterwards, even though I was not really pleased with the conclusion, in fact I was pissed. But they did bring out the worse in each other and the more I thought about it, the more I ended up liking it the ending. I'm not sure they should be together. Overall, this book was really good, in a rollercoaster kind of way.
