As soon as I found out this book was released, I HAD to get it. I LOVED Greg in the first book, Axel, that I couldn't wait to read this.
Greg Cage has been thirsty for vengence for what happened in his past for a very long time. But when he sees how happy Izzy and Axel are, he can't help but want the same thing for himself. He just hasn't found the right woman yet. In the meantime, he has sexual relationships with women but never anything more than that. When he takes Nate, Izzy and Axel's son, to the doctor he meets nurse Melissa Larson. It was lust at first sight. He's never wanted to see a woman again like he does with Meli. From that moment on, he knows he can't let her slip away from him. He must have her.

When I first started this book, I had a bit of trouble getting into it unlike the first book of this series. I remember Greg being such a sweetheart Alpha. It took a while for that Greg to show up. First we were introduced to the Greg that cares about the women in his life, but that could be a bit of a jerk as well and I didn't like it. I didn't know that Mandy, his psycho fuck buddy, would later deserve the way he treated her. Once he let himself fall for Meli, that sweet man I loved so much finally arrived. I loved the way he protected, loved, and called Meli Beauty. But my goodness, what I loved the most was how this sexy man would interact with Meli's nephew Cohen. I loved what a beast he became in bed and did I mention his cock has three piercings. So hot! Greg had his moments but in the end, I totally loved him.
Melissa Larson has vowed to never make the same mistakes her mother and sister have made, after her sister dies. She will never let a man control her or cause her harm. She is an independent woman who takes care of her mother and nephew. But when she meets Greg Cage, she can't deny the attraction as well as something more. Greg has the power to hurt her deeply and it scares the crap out of her. That doesn't stop her from trying at a relationship with him. She's been taking care of herself and her family for so long that she doesn't know how to lean on Greg. But she does know that she is falling for him and that it feels right.

I loved the fact that Meli could take care of herself. But she was a bit annoying at first. I don't really know how to explain it, it's just that at times she would be too much for me. I mean I liked that she was a wonderful aunt to Cohen and how she took care of her mother. But at times she would come across as a bit bitchy. As the story progressed, I felt she became better. She could be kind and caring. There was a part where she stood up to crazy Mandy, I could not stop laughing and applauding her for defending herself. Seriously that Mandy was über cray cray. What I did like about her was that she didn't overreact when things got tough, she actually thought things through instead of letting her emotions get the better of her. That I did like.

The sex in this book was super passionate. Who knew Greg was such a beast and that he had cock piercings, that certainly made things interesting. But I'm surprised Meli could even walk with how much sex they were having. I think this was a bit too much at times, just because I really wanted them to get to know each other, and not just in bed. They had this connection they both couldn't deny, yet I was waiting for it to develop. When it finally did, I was so happy. Seriously, Greg was just so freaking swoony... the things he would say.

OMG! Little Cohen stole my freaking heart. He was such a cutie with his hilarious questions. He would adorably fight imaginary ninjas while wearing a cape... so freaking cute! I loved this little boy. And my heart broke hearing him wonder about his parents. But the way he took to Greg was awesome to see. I loved it!

And right there, a tangle of limbs and our lips locked together, we both reach our release at the same time. Completely connected. Mind, body, and soul.

The book was able to get my interest more in the last 40%. That's when both Greg and Meli were more open, although I would have liked to have read it happen rather than time going by. It was also when some drama started happening and it had me so nervous and scared. The ending was good but I was left wanting more. I really wanted Greg's reaction, but oh well. I am now very much wanting to read Maddox's book. I liked the way he would act towards Cohen. I'm also curious about Dee and Beck, I wonder how that will turn out. I can't wait to read it!
