I looked at him, into his warm gray eyes, and suddenly understood what he was trying to tell me. The message hidden beneath the words.
You're not alone.

I am totally in shock by how much I loved this book. I'm not going to lie, I really thought that this would end up not being my cuppa but I was so wrong. This book had me hooked from the beginning.

“I don't like him," I explained. "He annoys the hell out of me ninety-six percent of the time, and sometimes I'd like nothing better than to strangle him to death. But at the same time I... I want him to be happy. I think about him way more than I should, and I -"

"You love him.”

Bianca is a girl who was cynical, down to earth, and loyal. She would do anything for her two best friends. When they are all at a party, Wesley--the school man-whore--tells her something she cannot believe is happening for real. He tells her that she is the DUFF, a.k.a. Designated Ugly Fat Friend, of her group. After getting this information, she internally freaks out and is hurt by this label. In reality, she brushes it off as if it doesn't affect her, but, she does care and she does feel like she is less attractive when compared to her friends. Things only get worse when things at home with her parents are breaking apart. The only thing she wants is a distraction.

No one else makes me WANT to embarrass myself by writing sappy letters like this one.
Only you.

I can't tell you how much I really enjoyed this book. After I read the blurb, I was unsure of this book, then with that cover, I for sure thought this wouldn't be a book for me. However, after reading many reviews, something made me give it a try. I am so glad that I did. I loved the realism of the story and the characters. It was quite refreshing. I loved Bianca and I found her very relatable. I enjoyed the humorous banter between all the characters, but especially between Bianca and Wesley. I don't know how it happened but I fell completely for Wesley, despite him being a big jerk in the beginning. He was amazing and totally won my heart. This was a sweet, funny read with some serious issues in the mix and I loved it. I would totally recommend you give this one a try. Who knows, it might be for you too.
