"The worst part is that you and me--we could have been amazing. We could have had it all, Logan. Everything. And you fucked it up."

I am in pain right now, and my face is still wet with tears. This book.... this book.

This is Logan Matthews' story. He isn't really sure of what love really is. But he does know that he can't forget about this girl. This girl that he needed to know but abruptly left. Now a year later, this girl is back in his life. No matter what he tries he tells himself. He can't stay away from her. He just hopes that she will forgive him and give him a second chance. Meanwhile, Amanda knows she never wants to go through that pain again. She isn't sure she can ever forgive him. That doesn't stop him from trying.

The book goes back and forth from past to present for about the first quarter of it. I enjoyed the the flashbacks and how it kept giving us information on what exactly went wrong between them. It never annoyed me to read about the past. Some were really great memories while others were a pit painful to read.

“And this—this is the moment. The moment I let myself fall completely in love with her.”

I liked Logan since he gave this speech on his quest for love in the first book. Ever since then, I wanted to get to know him more. He was cocky and a total asshat. But that isn't who he really is, that is just a mask he wears to hide how unsure and hurt he is. His upbringing was heart wrenching. I couldn't believe all that he went through and when I really think about it, I'm glad he didn't let it destroy his life. He is still full of hope for his future. He's left it all behind and trying to move forward. I loved how wonderful he could be to Amanda. But at the same time, he frustrated me with how hurtful he could be. In the end, I did love him. He ripped my heart to shreds in the end but I still loved this character.

“I'll follow you wherever, Logan. For as long as you'll have me."
Forever, I thought. But I kept that to myself.”

Amanda, I also really loved. Her upbringing wasn't the best either. I felt for her completely after her father pretty much abandoned her family. She works hard to try to give herself a future. She is also trying to move on from her hurtful past. She is independent and quite strong. No matter how many times she falls, she makes sure to pick herself up and keep going. I loved that about her. I mean if I was her, I would probably be completely devasted by everything that happened to her. This book really made me feel all of their emotions, which I was so happy about. I swooned so hard for Logan right along with Amanda. I felt it all.

"I can't give you much, or anything at all. But when I say those words to you, it won't just be words - It will be me giving you something that means something. And you deserve to know that, to feel that. So please, let me be the first to say it - because I need to be able to at least give you that...and when I do - those three words will be yours, forever. And so will I."

Both of these characters were molded by their pasts. The desicions they make are because of what they went through. Which is why they end up hurting one another and don't really know how to stay together in the long run. They are still very much lost. Together they feel whole, but they still need to find themselves and heal in order to be together. It was a tear jerking story. I was bawling by the end of it. I connected so much with these characters. It wasn't all melancholic, there were many moments of humour with the secondary characters that I love so much. Especially Lucy and Cam who are my favourite couple (*cough*I hope they get a book*cough*). There were also some sweet moments between Amanda and Logan. But that ending gutted me. I can't wait to dive into the next. I definitely recommend this one to YA/NA lovers.
